Hello all, my wife has recently bought a rather lovely 500S in electronica blue :)

The colour was one of the things that sold it to us, however it seems like this could be a negative now, because we've had a couple of stone chips and a scratch, went to dealer, who say Fiat don't offer a touch up paint in this colour. Rang Fiat customer service Italy who said the same!

The scratch and chips are only tiny, but have got to bare metal, and the cheapest quote I've had so far from a body shop is £100. I can't stomach paying that especially since the scratch is not even visible at eye level (hidden by the boot handle)

Seems a bit bizarre to me, how do they paint the things if they don't have the paint!

So I guess it's off to Halfords, etc, for us. Does anyone know if there is a paint from another manufacturer that is a close enough match?

Thanks for the reply :) that is a plausible reason actually, but I've seen metallic-looking touch up kits in Halfords so I figured Fiat would have something similar, at least to protect the body from rust

It's all I can think of, because they've got every other colour (except the pearl Abarth paint as far as I can see!).

The metallic ones in Halfords may not be as metallic as they seem when actually applied. Then again, a bodyshop may not manage a perfect match.

Hopefully an electonica blue owner (v. jealous of the car by the way!!), can chip in with their experience.

Coincidentally and a bizarre question, your name isn't Mark is it? :p

It does depend but I seem to think that blue is a really stunning and reflective colour which picks out differently in different lights, and i think it's likely that it's not a simple touch up job it might have multiple layers of different colour and a basic touch up paint would show up like a sore thumb.

Fiat usually do a touch up for a normal metallic colour which consists of the colour and the clear coat.

My golf has 3 colours and a clear coat, black blue and purple, depending on the angle of the sun and brightness of the light it will show up different colours

Unfortunately there does seem to be a trend recently with Fiat not offering touch up kits for some of their colours. Am guessing it might be a bit of cost cutting.

I do recall one guy with a green Panda 4x4 who had a similar problem (posted in the Panda 2012 section). If my memory servesbme correctly, I think he did find a solution, but I can't remember what the rough title of the thread was.

Edit - I found the thread and tagged you in it 500S! It is in the Panda 2012 section by the way. There are a couple of suggestions in that thread.

I have the exact same issue. I have been to a local body repair supplies and they have mixed me a small nail polish type bottle. I can pass you the details if you like.

Hi I am the proud owner of this colour too. Just brought the car today. I would like any details of any pens or mixes pretty please
