Does the turbo from the multiair (t-jet 1.4) fit the twinair (85 ps.) motor?
Has anyone done this modification?
Has anyone done this modification?
Only if you have the Euro 6 TA85. It won't fit on the Euro 5.The turbo from the 105hp should fit the 85
I'm not sure I understand. The Euro 6 also has a different cylinder head than the Euro 5. Would you swap that too???In theory I'd also have to swap in the EU6 ECU and CAT to be legal.
You're right, I forgot the head and manifold are one on the EU6's. Can you confirm that the IC is different?
The 105's turbo is a Mitsubishi TD025, same basic unit as used in various small diesels. It's available with either electronic or vacuum controlled waste gates.
The stock cast manifold really needs to go as it's heavy and restrictive. It's hard to save weight from the front of a 500 (any car really) so an improved manifold (Ti perhaps) would be the way to go.
Back when I had a Honda City Turbo the hot ticket was a turbo swap for a Mitsubishi TD unit
But to get back to the original question, for a standard road car, the Abarth turbo is the wrong place to look for a TA upgrade, you'd have far too much lag.
According to ePER (v84) the TA85 shares the cooler with the 95 hp diesel engine. The TA105 has a different cooler, but I don't what the difference is.Can you confirm that the IC is different?
Do you really mean the wastegate? I know these turbochargers are available with either electronically or pneumatically controlled dump valve. A dump valve isn't a wastegate though. The 105's turbo is a Mitsubishi TD025, same basic unit as used in various small diesels. It's available with either electronic or vacuum controlled waste gates.
