We still don't know what this actually includes.....

I suspect it locks you into paying for all of the wear and tear work that they suggest as do most of these plans....

Having looked at the t's and c's I'd say it's a poor deal. As usual it doesn't cover most of the things that go wrong and a lot of things are excluded through wear and tear. If it were my car then none of the things that have failed would have been replaced.

As UFI said, these plans do not exist to do anything other than make money for the company selling them. You will forever be having brake pads replaced a bit early, oooh that tyre is getting a bit low. Tyres are wearing a bit funny, have you knocked the tracking out? Give us some money to sort it.

Keep your money and avoid like the plague....

Thank you Maxi, much appreciated opinion. I will endeavour to check out with the Dealer in Warrington as to whether I am obliged to have any wear and tear items done which they suggest, and if it has to be done by them as opposed to an Indie.

Ahmett, If I were to get it serviced at an Indie, excellent man lives nearby, does it not negate the Warranty?

Not at all. Just use the correct specifications and spare parts (Fiat official parts) and you will be fine.
Once the warranty expires, don't bother using Fiat parts as they are generally rubbish.

Steady on there tiger! OEM parts as a whole are ok when it comes to engine consumables - they won't be crap, as Fiat don't want them failing and causing warranty claims!

Personally I only ever use OEM oil filters and replacement thermostats, but everything else is often pattern parts.

They are more than a joke, they just need to last 1 year after that warranty on them expires. Since reputable aftermarket parts suppliers also offer at least a 1 year warranty for often a much cheaper price, the incentive to buy Fiat OEM parts outside of warranty are basically zero, unless there is no alternative (such as the beloved Dualogic gearbox system from Magnetti Marelli which is 100% owned by fiat)

Not at all, warranty doesn't cover 'just a year' considering service intervals are more than that on a lot of the range.

There is also lots of info out there about how poor a lot of pattern part oil filters are for example, regarding quality and quantity of filtering medium.

Worth searching for it, was on a Subaru forum iirc, someone got about 10-15 filter, chopped them all up, and the OEM one came out best (y)

We all have our own opinion, and I'm not completely discrediting yours, but on this occasion it is more just opinion, where as mine is slightly more fact based :)

When you buy a spare part for a Fiat, it has 1 year manufacturer and labor warranty and a 100,000 km limit within that year.

Subaru is not Fiat!

Don't mix Subaru with the rifraff!
