Hello I'm having trouble finding a coolant leak, it spurts over the gear box area but only when hitting temperature, I suspect a faulty hose clip but has anyone had experience with a similar issue and what would be the best way to get to it, taking air box and battery housing out?

I've included some In what way? but I can't make out where the issue is.
Thanks

Hi,

on the smaller petrols there can be a problem with a hose connector ( stub/pipe) on the thermostat housing,

plastic pipe shears off in time..,(SEARCH section..)

TBH it's worth getting in there and replacing for an all-metal one,
normally you'll see residue around to show where you'r current leak is coming from,

Thanks for the info, from the thread seems like I'd be better off replacing the entire thermostat, as how easy would it be to find a metal hose to fit? And am I right in thinking I'd need to take just the air box out to get to it?

I think in these cases you need to take it to the garage for a fix, unless you have the experience for doing such of things. It's pretty messy in that little engine cabin, eveything is very tight and close to each other, the thermostat isn't an expensive part to replace.

Thermostat comes with the housing. Buy the aftermarket one from here.

The plastic hose that breaks/cracks would be on the left hand side of the picture in the link above- in this case (aftermarket) it's been changed to a metal part (the one with the spanner flats on it).

Thanks for all your help on this was quite straightforward to replace got part from car spares, £22+vat.
