Hello everyone I have previously had a 2013 500 from new and traded it in for a new 2015 model in march. Never had a problem with the 2013 car but since day one on my new car I've noticed the exhaust sounds almost like it has a hole in it or something? I've just spoken to the dealership to book it in to be looked at and they've mentioned something about a hole used for draining condensation out of the exhaust makes it louder in general? It's so loud that my housemates can hear me pulling into my space which is across the road from my house! My last car was silent in comparison to this I'm starting to feel a bit like a boy racer (haha). Just thought id ask for some opinions in case it is all in my head and I'm just noticing it more because I'm paranoid? Thanks in advance.

Hole for condensation has been there since year dot, it confused me a few months into my ownership.
What engine do you have?
We've 3 500's (don't ask. 
), and they've all got a fairly loud exhaust.
Is it like a burble at lower RPM's especially?
I dropped mine down a gear, exhaust burbled loudly and surprised someone walking past. Im such a yob.

But it's so nice ...occasionally !
It's a 1.2 petrol and yes particularly loud when I'm pulling off and reversing
Yeah that seems to just be how they sound. I quite like it. Little car got a lot of grunt.
Quite normal, although it had me questioning at the beginning of ownership, it's definitely a gurgle ! It does get quieter as the back box passes more soot through it as it gets older. But, yes, it's quite noticeable in reverse and pulling away from the drive etc...nothing to worry about though.
I remember we used to drill bigger holes into my old Escort back box, back in the day to make it sound better :bang:
It's just strange as my previous 500 was so quiet. It's booked in to be looked at tomorrow morning anyway so I'll let you know the result. I kind of hope there's something wrong with it as I'll look pretty silly if there isn't haha

My panda is significantly noisier than my 08 plate 500 was when new, I think its a characteristic of the euro 6 engines. A few people on here have commented at how much more raspier they sound.
