This is going to be difficult to explain but my sliders to the 'fins' on the inside of the air vent are not moving them at all. (from left to right to control the air flow). I pulled the slider off and a black clip popped off and is still in the vent. I managed to get it out once with tweezers but not sure how it is all supposed to clip and work together. Would be nice to control the air flow. I've been damaging my dash too by using a flat headed screwdriver to try and prise the front of the vent off to no luck, just unsightly scuff marks :(

I have had a look on the forum and can't seem to find anything related so any help would be appreciated :)

Hi. Have you seen this thread?

I have a spare air vent if it turns out you need one. And by the way, don't pull the radio all the way out as its a pain trying to push the wires back in to refit it.. You only need to pull it out a little to get to the screws

TIP: Be careful - the screws are not magnetic! I stuck a bit of blu-tac on the end of the screwdriver so the screws stuck on it - and then gently draw the screws out trying not to knock them so they fall off! Do the same when replacing them.
Thanks to all who shared details of how to do this. I was a little apprehensive starting, but it really is a simple job. The hardest bit was getting the radio release tools out again!
