Pray you don't have a mechanical failure. If parts aren't in local stock you'll be waiting minimum 5 weeks for these idiots to get the parts shipped from either the US or Europe. Airfreight you ask? Seriously, we've already sold you a car, what more do you want...?!
Our a/c broke down just before xmas. New condenser and TX value had to be shipped out from the States. 5 weeks later I had to chase up as I hadn't heard a thing. "Oh yes sir, it looks like the parts just arrived this morning..." Repaired and less than a week later the compressor went (I suspect the compressor was actually the first to go and damaged the other parts). Another 5 weeks to get it shipped out of Europe. Even after supposedly being flagged as VOR vehicle off road. Pretty much the hottest period of summer with a non a/c car - it was unusable in that heat.
At least we only waited 6 months for delivery of our car after being told it would be 3 months. We were lucky I guess as we'd gotten in a few weeks after they'd dropped the prices to $14k driveaway on the 1.2 Pop.
Anyway, we're back in the waiting game - some numbnuts t-boned the car last week when my wife was driving home. A P Plater pulled out of a driveway and drove straight into the back wheel of the Fiat with her Camry. Luckily a low speed hit but the panel over the back wheel is stuffed, the wheel's taken a hit and although it's driveable the repairer will check for suspension damage. Apparently Fiat has a panel in local stock - miracles happen! But the repair will take 3 weeks... groan. Praying that there's not other parts that the repairer discovers needs replacing which need to be ordered from overseas.
Enough of the bad news - before the prang we dropped into Bunnings one morning, spied another Pop and parked right next to it. Came back out to see a 500 Lounge parked on the other side. Three 500's parked in a row - very amusing and people must've thought there was some sort of Fiat promo going on! Moments that make owing a 500 worth the wait
