Firstly hi to all, didn't see a dedicated intro section so excuse me if I've missed this!

Have recently joined the world of Fiat 500 ownership and the wife absolutely loves it, it's just this pesky check power steering fault that I need to get rid of. Having done a search it seems that this is quite common and attributed mainly to a dodgy battery but I have had a diagnostic completed by my local Fiat dealer who had advised a new BCM?! Is this something that would cause the intermittent power steering light? Just to clarify light appears on startup randomly but steering functions fine. Fiat did a "health check" report as part of the diagnostics and the battery was marked as good (12v) on report but not sure how far they go into it for a quick once over.

Fault codes from fiat where U1700-86 and a B10AA-4A. Just wanted an opinion before forking out over £400.

Thanks in advance to all and i look forward to many more (hopefully more positive) posts! :)
