It's been a while since I've posted here!

Our 2011 500 has an odd little issue that happens. Sometimes when you hold the car on the clutch (for example if you're paused on a hill waiting for oncoming traffic before turning) the general warning light will come on and the start/stop will become "unavailable", usually until your next journey.

It's not high revs or anything silly - I'm very good at holding it on the clutch at very low revs and we're only talking for a few seconds too... Anyone experienced this or got any ideas?

It's not a big deal, I very rarely use S/S anyway, but I just thought it was odd.

Don't use the clutch to hold. Use the brakes. Good way to wear them out faster.

I'm sure this was quite an issue back in the early days of stop/start.

I have a feeling the advice was two fold:
Stop riding the clutch

An update that allowed the clutch to be in a mid-position (which is probably what the system is getting upset at here- why would it be in the middle position for so long? Must be a faulty sensor= log fault, temporarily shut off the system) for longer before flagging an error.
