Have just had a fun couple of hours changing out my day running bulbs with a white light equivalent to match the Bi xenons and have noticed there is another bulb in the cluster which seems to act as a headlight when the xennons are on.

I know I am going to get some abuse here bit is it a H1 and whats the point of it when I have the xenons that serve that purpose of a dipped headlight

Need to replace these to get the white light I am seeking, also have to change the fog lights.

Any advice without too much flak. :p

Don't know if there's a different arrangement in xenon-equipped cars but in my non-xenon one that H1 is the high-beam.

It's a four-headlamp system
Top lamps are dipped beams, and incorporate the indicator.
Bottom lamp is DRL, using a twin-filament bulb to dim to 5w when dipped beam is on, plus also main beam headlamp.
On main beam, you have four headlamps. Have you not noticed? Or never had the chance to use main beam?

Just to clarify a bit on what Bill said, the lower lamp housing contains 2 bulbs. One is the 21W/5W DRL/Parking bulb, which is the one the OP has changed. The other is the H1 55W bulb for high beam.

He has the HID lights, they have the dipped and main beam in the headlight, they also have standard main beam where the drls are.

I realise this is an old thread, but for clarity - you are saying that when you have xenons the high beam is in the upper units as well and the lower units are just additional high beam lights ?
