Technical Bad paint match - bianco white

There has only ever been one solid white on the 500 in the UK market. That is Bossa Nova White. Also, note that all 500 (non-Abarth) paint codes are made up of a type of music and then a colour. Bianco white doesn't fit into this style of naming colours and isn't a UK name for the colour.

It IS Bossa Nova White. If I had my Bossa Nova White 500 with me I'd take a photo of the paint code sticker but alas I'm in the Panda.

If you want advice it is customary to actually listen to advice that is given....

BNW is notoriously difficult to match perfectly; there've been quite a few posts about this on the forum over the years.

I disagree, I had a little scrape in my car a few months back and the repair is pretty much invisible. The issue here is a paint shop painting a bumper to match a car that they're not in possession of.

You most likely took it to a competent bodyshop. Do you remember this thread, and Lloyd's post?

Mismatching of plastic and metal panels on BNW cars, even when fresh from the factory, is quite common - just look in any car park on a sunny day.

I agree with Maxi, I suppose it depends who does the job but our old 500 needed quite a lot of minor repair work following a bump, some of which included a re-spray (ours being a 1.2 Pop in BNW).

Vospers in Plymouth who did the job back then in 2011 did a really good job, you couldn't tell the difference at all.

Mind you, it did cost the best part of £900 to get the whole lot fixed, but hey ho!

Did he have funk white or bnw though?

BNW is difficult; FW is probably near on impossible.

I wasn't suggesting a competent bodyshop wouldn't be able to match BNW, just that if you buy the paint blind by code alone and just spray it on, it'll likely not match perfectly.

A year or so ago I did a small repair on the corner of my BNW 500's bumper. I ordered an aerosol from Paints4U, who I have found to be pretty good in the past. However, their paint was too "creamy" to match properly. I then took a punt on Poundland's white car paint. Unbelievably, this is a better match! Still not absolutely perfect, but for the tiny area involved, it'll do.

Is there any need for your rudeness?

As you can see from the picture I posted, it shows that mine is Bianco White. It is a UK car.
Just stop and listen for two seconds, two whole seconds......

Bianco white as a colour for the Fiat 500 DOES NOT exist. Bianco is Italian for white, so effectively the paint name you've made up means white white. So all the paint sticker is saying is that it's white with the paint code of 268/A. Your car IS Bossa Nova White and all of the Bossa Nova white bumpers on ebay would go on just fine and probably match a little better than the one you had painted up.

Between myself and Jrkitching we know most things there are to know about 500's and we both agree that Bianco White does not exist and that your car is Bossa Nova White. If you want to continue to argue the toss then I'll just block you and the next time you want an answer it won't come from me and you better hope that everyone else's advice is correct.

Your call.

Just to highlight what Maxi is saying this is from the fiat accessories website showing all the various touch up paints

As you can see it lists your paint code as both Bianco Bianco and bossa nova

However the name of the paint doesn't really matter as pointed out before any one colour name could have a dozen or more different shades.

As you can see from that list there are also a number of different 'whites' that the 500 came in.
