I know there's only a few of you, but I just ordered one and was told that the software has been recalled and will only be fixed in late January. If you have a TA MM tuning box it would be prudent to remove it until the software revision is complete.

I don't know the specific issue at this stage.

Thanks for the heads up :)

Wonder what this software update fixes - guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I turned mine off when it got cold here. Don't need the extra oomph when the roads are slippery + might as well save a few drops :D

Not been on here for a while guys... I was interested in the MM tuning box but never got around to getting it.
How do you rate the extra power? Noticeable?
Thanks.

Welcome back :)

The difference is noticeable but not extreme. I'm running mine in off-mode until the software update arrives.

I've been in contact with another forum user that just got the module and he can't program it because MM removed the TwinAir map from the database - likely because of the software recall.

As soon as they are available again I think I'll get one. Is the increase 15bhp?
I guess you have the remote control too?

They claim it is 15bhp. I would really like to get mine on a dyno to see what the actual output is with the different maps. Also MM doesn't specify the torgue so it would be especially interesting to see that. Similar modules put it around 170nm.

Yes I have the remote which controls both the engine module and the pedal module. Very useful :)

I have the remote control for my unit but did not use it a great deal. But now looking at the way the software works via a PC i would say you can get by without the remote. Just plug the module into your PC using a usb cable. And change map to zero or one/two. takes seconds.

Pedal module?? What's that? Is it just a way to increase throttle response?

And still no reply from there technical department.
Did you send an e-mail to the support account at me100t.com? I had plans to do that myself, but if you already did, then I will just be patient till you inform us about their reply.

(I deliberately didn't mention the e-mail address to oppose spammers!)

I always try to buy my tuning parts from dotshop Italy. The guy there, Mattia is really good and always communicates / responds to emails.
I've ordered the module from him. He told me the problem, although it didn't put me off at all.
Here's what he told me. He said the module works very well and the increase in bhp / power is very good. However if the car is full of people and there is a hill the car will slow a little. They developed a new map which is an improvement but they still do not consider it perfect in this scenario but conclude that it's just a limitation of the engine.
Actually, it's not really surprising that the little motor slows a little when full of folk going up a hill
Can't wait for mine to arrive.
Just for reference it says it a '111' version on the paperwork I received.
Hope this helps

How much did it cost?

Magneti Marelli removed all software/maps for all the TA engines from their server. I "emptied" my module, but now it's not even possible to return to the software/map that was in it before. With a problem as tiny as suggested by the Dotshop guy there is no need to take such drastic measures. Most customers wouldn't even notice that problem (since most people never have their 500 full of people) and those who do can easily get their modules updated by Magneti Marelli as soon as an update is available. So, I'm afraid the problem is more serious.
