Drivers seat: different upholstery to rest?!

Hi there

I realise this is v random but I went to look at a second hand 500 today and it wasn't until I was about to leave that I noticed the drivers seat had different colour upholstery to the rest. It's not extremely noticeable hence why I didn't realise at first. The other 3 are greyish with a fleck whereas the drivers is more of a beige.

Just wondered if any ever knew of any weird limited edition thing where driver seats was different?! Unlikely I know but I thought I'd check. The car had only just arrived in garage so they didn't know anything as yet.

Thanks

No such special editions exist. Some possible scenarios:

1) Driver's seat is original but very, very mucky.

2) Driver's seat "legitimately" damaged somehow (something spilt on it or whatever)

3) Car has been in an accident during which the airbag within the driver's seat deployed.

4) Car has been clocked and driver's seat changed to hide mileage related wear.

Any of those scenarios don't point to a well cared for vehicle (who puts a none matching seat into something they take good care of (bangers excluded)).

The 500 isn't a rare car so I'd be finding another one. Just not worth the potential risk/hassle- who knows what else has been bodged.

:yeahthat:

If you are buying a mass produced secondhand car and are in any doubt whatsoever, just walk away. The consequences of buying a bad one far outweigh the relatively small loss of walking away from a good one.
