Just been trying to swap out my DRL's - failed miserably (it clicks when I turn anti-clockwise) but then doesn't budge (not to mention the ridiculously small hand you need to do it), now when I turn it back clockwise (normal position). It now comes up saying check daylight and no light comes on.

But that's the least of my worries now as I can't even turn the key in the ignition at all.... The steering is on full lock and daren't put too much pressure on but it's not budging at all!!

Any ideas? ?

I've figured it out.... You have to pull down left (as it was on full lock left) and hold and then turn the key. Sorry, feel like a right tool - it's my first car! ?

Just the DRL's to swap out now ?

Quite common in lots of cars- if the key doesn't turn, a few wiggles of the steering wheel should free it up...

Yes, you need the dexterity of a neuro-surgeon and the hands of a 6 yr old...

Don't get me wrong, if someone floated round and changed for me I wouldn't say no but I'm not prepared to break a nail nor pay a mechanic to do. So live without ;)

I had mine changed on the A500, when I had to have the 2 front tyres replaced. The mechanic changed the DRL's with the PIAA's I took along. FOC. (It was an Authorised Indi service agent, not a tyre outlet)

Those two attributes are sufficient for changing the pollen filter.

Swapping out DRL's requires in addition the sensitivity and blind working skills of a gynecologist.

You can practice by wallpapering your hall through the letterbox.

Many years ago I went for an assessment to be a gynecologist, but my hands would not stop shaking when doing the practical. Needless to say I did not get the job.:D

Whoever designed the DRL arrangement & housing on the 500 deserves a slap! :(

I agree the design is awful, I lost skin from my knuckles and then almost got shot down on FF, now i have mastered it :)

Maxi is being quiet on this... he once posted something like "..whilst washing the 500 and reading FF, I removed the DRL and put it back.." Prob small but long hands :)

Never really understand why people bitch about the drl's. It's not that hard. The pollen filter on the other hand.

I've changed both of them in the last month and a bit byw :)
