Ok guys this sounds like a joke but it's happening ! I got the low fuel buzzer warning but my tank is showing a quarter tank and the fuel light is not on! What do I believe?

Range went blank as well but still showing a quarter tank !

I had that once, just ignored until fuel light came on.

I think I'll fill it up with petrol tomorrow and see what happens. If more than 35 l goes in and it still shows a quarter tank it means something is wrong somewhere!

The light goes on at a certain fuel level, the beeper goes on at a certain range to empty. Usually the light goes on first but if fuel consumption is high the beeper can sound first.

My beeper goes on when the fuel level goes down to 1 bar below absolute zero, which is 25% of a quarter tank. This time the beeper went down and range went blank at a quarter tank. It hadn't really happened before so I thought it odd.

Maxi is right; the beeper goes when the car thinks it's only got 30 miles to run based on recent fuel consumption.

Normally I'd think it unusual for that to happen before the warning light comes on (mine usually lights up with the range showing about 80 miles), but with Ahmett in the driving seat....

Brings to mind that episode of Top Gear when they took a selection of performance cars out on the track with a measured gallon of fuel to see how far they'd go when driven properly hard; IIRC* the Ferrari didn't even manage 2 miles .

Edit: *I did; here it is:
