Yes it happened again my dualogic gearbox broke for the second time 2 years later! It was driving, got stuck in 4th gear and then went to neutral with gearbox light flashing. It will not leave neutral so that's that! Of course this has to happen Friday night so waiting until Monday it is and walking home on the agenda.

Lets see. My Bosch dealer seems quite capable and they told me they have fixed broken dualogics in the past. Will let you guys know.

Until then, I have commandeered my mom's Audi A3 1.4 tsi DSG '10. Not a bad car

Took it today to Bosch Service Center. They checked it out, no pressure in the system so will replace the actuator and probably the clutch also and have a look at the pump. Will call me on Monday, if they have the parts they will fix it that day. Will let you guys know the expense and what it was exactly.

Fingers crossed for you.

Since I am planning on keeping the car forever, it is good this is being fixed as I have had issues with the gearbox for a while now. My only concern is not the cost, but whether this repair will fix it once and for all. I have serious suspicions fiat didn't go a good job fixing it under warranty as they simply couldn't have been bothered to fix it permanently.

Ok heard back from Bosch. Actuator completely knackered so will replace that and put dualogic gearbox oil and change the clutch as well. If that is all that's wrong 420 euros which is decent. I hope gearbox itself is ok !

Fixed for 520 Euros! Selespeed actuator replaced + (I think the pump as well), clutch changed, there were some scatch marks on the clutch plate, and new selespeed and conventional gearbox oil changed. Car feels perfect to drive for the first time in years drivetrainwise so am quite happy with the results, maybe this breakdown was a blessing in disguise to end my gearbox problems once and for all.

I just hope this lasts!

Thanks for letting us know - it sounds to me like a good result (y).

Just don't try to break it on the first day - the new clutch will need a little time to bed in properly ;).

Thanks for the advice! Yes I am actually taking it easy and driving it in Auto mode most of the time! Now that the system is fixed it drives well in auto unlike before so all is well!

Just an update, this morning car started and wouldnt leave gear it was stuck in 1st gear! What a joke, it would refuse to go to neutral and i was in a garage so no hope whatsoever of getting the car towed. I opened engine compartment and it sounded like either pump or actuator had seized and was jammed. So after a while i decided to remove the negative terminal of the battery and let the system reset itself. Since then back to normal (normal as in normal for a dualogic with random gearbox check signs coming and going intermittently).

Anyway at least i learnt how to remove the negative battery lead.

Well except the pump I don't know what else hasn't been replaced on the dual logic system :) working ok for now 96000 kms of hard driving
