General Delivery Times

Ten days on and still no idea of delivery date. Haven't even heard if it has been shipped yet!
Seven weeks so far and it's really not going to be here next week. Still hoping it's here for Auto Italia.
Do you see why I didn't say "oh it'll be x weeks"

The delivery process takes however long it takes sadly.

Was told it was built by the 8th April. Just waiting for shipping!

As you know I've been waiting 8 months already - yes just like a pregnancy- I'm told mid May is when the car arrives after a 40 day boat trip ...but it can also face delays with customs etc, not uncommon for the car to be at the docks for a week or more before being transported to the dealer....

I ordered mine jan this year and still heard no news on delivery time

A couple of possibilities. Your car may be a March build like mine, which means that you may get it second half of May...a month from now, more or less. It may well be on a boat right now. Or ,if it missed the March build, you might not see it until Aug-Sept. Contact your dealer and see if they can confirm a build date. Good luck hope you're not waiting too long....

I was told on 8 April it was built and understand it was a march build without the TFT dash so hopefully not long now. Can't believe a January order hasn't arrived yet though. I had to wait until February to order the 105hp but have been told many times end of April or sooner!

Oops prev message sent too soon.

My delay is primarily due to a 40 day boat journey from Poland to Australia. I would have thought March built cars would have been delivered a tad faster in the UK - boat or overland would get it there in a matter of days.

Yes, but...... they wait till they have a full boat and that could be once a week, twice a week, once every fortnight etc etc etc.....

Just like waiting for a car transporter.

Thanks psfiat, I will call up the dealer which month was the car built... Hopefully it's march built same as yours

Have just heard it is "about to land in the UK" and could be here (the dealership) "within the next 10 days?".
So maybe things are looking a bit more hopeful. Surely there are enough cars to fill a transporter to Motor Village Croydon which is owned by Fiat! Can't help but hope it will be here a bit sooner.

Okay... Stay in touch - we're both playing the waiting game. Dealer should know if the car has at least been built ...

Can't think what is going on with your car. What has the dealer said to you? They must know what stage it is at e.g. built, shipped etc so although they can't give you an accurate delivery date they should give you an idea of its status. Mine was built before 8th April and is "about to land in the UK" so yours must be at least at that stage.

Ye the dealer wasn't helpful at all, last time they said they don't know and they said feel free to get your deposit back if you can't wait -_-

When you call the dealer next time speak to the sales manager, you might get some joy that way. Even my sleepy, apathetic dealer could check his data base and confirm that a) the car was in fact built and b) was actually on a boat due to dock mid-May.

Sounds like you are dealing with the wrong dealer - who is it? - I would be tempted to take the money and spend it at another dealer. Unless you are after a particular spec that has to be a factory order there should be some pre-ordered cars arriving soon.

babyferrari makes a good point. The car you want might even be at another dealer. Worth ringing around then get that deposit back.

Ye but I don't want to mention names here. I'm going to call them up after Anzac Day and then determine if I should wait or take my money else where.

Actually last time when I called up before Easter I spoke with the sales that closed our deal. Maybe I should try his manager then?
