Has anyone here fitted aftermarket cruise control to their 500 (or Abarth 500), if so which one, is it any good etc??

I am finding I miss it too much after having had it in my last 4 cars AND our Citroen DS4 having it, I find I have a really sore leg and ankle after driving for more than 30 mins on a motorway due to the way the pedals are set high on the 500!

Strange question, what size are your feet? Are your heels on the floor, have you played around with the angle of the seat base? I've driven from Dover to the South of France in one day and my ankle was fine :)

It must be a very personal thing or maybe some cars are set up diffently, but i have to say the 500 we took for a test drive was very hard to get comfortable in, I only mean the pedals. The clutch pedal was so high it made my wife's and my foot ache, and we only drove for 20 mins each.

I've got a Panda and a 500 and find both fine on long journeys. I think you just get used to it over time.

To add to this as well, I'm always using cruise control in my Bravo, 7 weeks with a 500 without it, and although I hated it out of an act of not being able to be lazy and having to concentrate on my speed, however my feet never ached - a solid day in a classic Panda without CC though, and OMG  lol

Glad I got my Bravo back after the 7 weeks though :)

I noticed both my feet ached for a few weeks after I got my 500, granted I was driving an auto previously. Don't notice it at all now after 2 months.

I'm 6ft. and have done long journeys ( 700 mile round trips) in both the TA Lounge and Abarth 500 and never experienced discomfort. Taking time to set up the seating position goes a long way to a comfortable drive. As far as cruise control is concerned, I find it most beneficial when driving on an average speed camera section of motorway.

I have spent ages messing around with the seat settings, I have actually found a very comfortable driving position now but I still get a sore leg\ankle when driving on the motorway, the pedals are just too high for me and I have for the last 12ish years had cruise control in my cars, it's something I enjoy having on motorways, I find the A500 very hard to keep at a steady speed on the motorway, am always having to correct my speed, esp if the road surface is a bit bumpy!

I had to do a quick motorway dash last night and took the DS4, cruise on as soon as I was off the ramp (only for about 20 miles) and was so much more relaxed!

I can't say I've ever been really comfortable in my 500. I find changing positions mid way on a long trip helps. I have the same leg/ankle issue, and for the most part I drive cars without CC.

I can give you details of a good orthopaedic surgeon, very reasonable charges, interest free credit and does home visits.:D:devil:
