Hello everybody, I'm interested in your opinion about a "strange" sound I get every time I give gas.
I made a video, please have a look:

I actually get other "funny" sounds while I'm driving, which make me suspect there is something wrong with the exhaust...

What do you think?

I will post another video with the sounds I get while driving.

Thanks!

Giulio

I take it its a Twinair? Im no expert but I cant hear anything wrong with that. Experts around?

Last time I visited the Fiat dealer (november) I got charged 650£ for a 18000 miles service + MOT ... I hope it won't be anything expensive

Plus, I get married saturday and I hope the car won't break down before! :worship:

Congratulations on the marriage.
650 GBP???? Why didn't you consult with us before and not allow yourself to get ripped off! We would have helped you!

Well, I was fully aware I was going to be ripped off but the car was still under warranty and I wanted to give this dealer an opportunity. I live i west London and I can't imagine another place where to get at least original parts, all the garages looks so dodgy! :) (I moved to the UK 3 years ago and I have yet to find a reliable and honest garage).

I was not worried about the price and I just wanted a good job done. I thought "you get what you pay!" and 650 seems promising! :)

Unfortunately I have the impression they didn't do most of the stuff they listed, plus...they charged me 3£ for replacing the windscreen liquid!!! (I had 2 big bottle of liquid at home!).

They had the chance, now they won't see me again...very simple. Next year I would like to buy a new car and I will visit another dealer. What a funny way to do business...

Now, I need to find a honest garage in west London...if somebody know someone I would really appreciate!

thanks!

Original parts? haha fiat's 'original parts' are worse than aftermarket ones = )

eheh but the car was still under warranty and I believe that regardless of the quality is always good practice using authorised garages and original parts...right?
nope you are wrong! and the warranty claims VERY rarely include service parts that you have changed anyway, so as long as you have not physically modified the car, original parts are essentially pointless.

Problem solved!
I brought the car to a honest garage and the found the following:

"Found air intake pipe to air filter housing box insecure due to securing bolt missing"

I asked them to check the previous work done by the Fiat deal and...they realised that they charged me for new break disk but they don't look new at all!...criminals

The bolt can come lose, doesn't mean the dealer has done anything wrong.

I was not talking about the bolt. That could have happened later.

The Fiat dealer charged me for new break disks and I still have the old ones. I don't remember exactly how much they charged but it won't cheap. Tomorrow I will have to check if they changed the oil at least!

How do you know for sure? A little rust means nothing

The guy didn't suggest me to replace them and i don't know why he should have lied about them. However I can't trust them 100% so i will bring the car to another garage to double check.

In the end I'm pretty happy, they charged me 48 £ and the car now goes wonderfully! The difference is huge.
