Grimwau had a broken weld iirc?

I did, but it was in the tailgate and was like it from new so therefore it was never right to go wrong, if you get my drift. Probably unlikely that a spot weld like that would ever break under normal conditions. But, if only to eliminate the possibility I found that sitting in the back and pressing hard on the top of the rear window frame whilst it was happening caused instant relief.

Thanks i will have to give that a go tomorrow and i will let you know what happends.

My 500 has rattles every now and again. If it sounds like rear window area could just be a trim rattle that may right itself. It's so hard to identify rattles. Drives me mad at times.

I just re-read this and it might be misleading as the terminology could make it appear that I was referring to the rear side window. I actually was referring to the OS top tailgate frame, sorry for any confusion. (y)

When i go over a bump in the road in my fiat 500 diesel they is an annoying rattling noise coming from the drivers side rear.Any sugestions on what it could be and how to fix it.
I had that is was the wheel brace right at the bottom of wheel well.take out jak and clip bak in the w,brace, replace jak and winde jak up while in place so it grips it's outer edges of its home gaffer tape other tools in place and hey presto it worked

One thing I found with my OH's 1.2 Lounge, which had a rattle in the back, was that the folding rear seat(s) had not been pushed back firmly enough into the retaining lug, after rectifying same, no rattle. Easy one to miss.

Found the cause of the rattle it was the seat belt tensioner banging on metal. A bit of rubber and fixed.

Hi there, im keeping this post alive, i think im having the same problem, does sound metallic and its coming from the rear at the drivers side. Cab you give me a few details of what you dis and where abouts? Thanks in advance

This is only rattle i get from the 500 when the seat has not been pulled back into the latch, or CD cases rattling when gear ratios are wrong.
