I got my Abarth 595 as an ex demo car with 4000 miles on it and a saving of £5000 it had the exact spec that I wanted but was missing the under seat subwoofer that my old 500 had.
The standard sound from the stereo is very bad, I could not hear half of the songs I was listening to, anything with the slightest amount of bass sounded wrong and there was absolutely no bass coming out of the speakers.

I decided to get an aftermarket subwoofer fitted and went to a local installer and had a chat. They told me that they could supply and fit one for £300ish and I thought great I will get that done, then they said come and listen to the stereo in their toyota loan car. I sat in it and the sound was amazing, the bass was very punchy and went down very low. I could not believe it when they told me that this was coming from a box no bigger than a shoe box.

They told me that I could have the JL Audio sub and seperate amp installed for around £600. Now this is twice as much but sounds 10 times better than the old under seat sub in my old 500.

The system uses my standard stereo so everything works at usual but now sounds amazing. They put a subwoofer volume adjuster under the handbrake so I can turn the bass right down when my 3 year old son is in the car and turn it up when a good song comes on.

Here is the seat out so they could fit the JL audio amp

They put the board under the carpet and screwed the amp to that

When I was younger I always had a silly stereo in my car and all I can say that this little box sounds better than most 12 inch subs that I gave had in the past.
The sub box is held by 2 straps that are screwed to the back of the seat and it can be taken out in 30 seconds in needed.

The amp is connected directly to the battery and all the wires are hidden. The install is a proper job and you can see that they have taken their time to get it done properly.

I still can't get over how good it sounds, you can be listening to rap music or speech on radio 4 and the improvement is amazing.

Everything was done by Unique Integrations in High Wycombe, I would definitely recommend getting this done in your car and would recommend if you are not too far away getting these guys to do it for you.

RUI - can you post the installation photos one more time as at the moment they are unavailable :(

Your subwoofer was added to standard stereo system and not the Interscope one?

Hi RUI,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Can you please re-upload the images as they cannot be viewed for some reason.
BTW I have recently bought a 500c and would be doing the same stereo upgrades as yours, seems perfect for me. Great work!
Thanks from Australia.
