General Insurance Scam?

General Insurance Scam?

I'm at work so haven't got sound, but looks more like road rage.

Seems people have an inability to merge (not sure on whos part though as only watched it quickly).

One thing is for sure though, the Focus defo slammed the anchors on, even if I apply my brakes on someone its never that much with that close a distance!

Exactly, my understanding is that you merge alternate. In this case BUS -> US -> focus. In any case, when she saw he was and arrogant old man she just stand back and kept distance.

The use of the breaks in this case was way too dangerous, the cars behind us were coming with some speed and we could have ended with some injuries.

That and the fact that it would have shown that the sounding of the horn caused the braking?

I'm not sure where do you want to go, I can also provide the sounds but even if we (me and my girlfriend) have played the italian anthem with the horn that DOESN'T justify causing a pile-up on a very busy road...

If someone break into your house because the door is open you would't blame ...the door, would you?

In any case, she is a new driver in the UK and for that reason we also have a big L on the back and the front of the car. I don't know you but when I see someone with an L I try to avoid this bull...t.

I don't even remember if she used the horn, if she did was only a kind of reflex, not more and nothing that can justify stopping the car in such way.
I remember I just told her to leave space for the bus (and she left plenty) and follow it. There was no rage until he almost knocked the left mirror.

Tonight I will edit the video and share with you the sounds, ok?

Please, re-read my comments. I'm not having a go at you, I'm just saying that the braking seems clearly to have been a reaction to the use of the horn, rather than a deliberate attempt to cause an accident as an insurance scam.

My apologies, I clearly misunderstood.

Lets say that it is not part of a scam, but i'm not sure if it can't be considered a "deliberate attempt to cause an accident"...I seen many very nervous drivers but they always end breaking a bit. He completely stopped the car, I believe even the ABS went off.

Have now watched it at home on my PC.

Much ado about nothing. Your wife and him wanted the same bit of road, you were merging into his lane, he didn't let you in, your wife tooted the horn, he braked to teach her a lesson, you got out of your car like a Neanderthal and the rest is history?

He was a dickhead, but your wife didn't have any right to that bit of road, it was his to give to you and he didn't. There is no law regarding merging AFAIK.

MAxi, he was merging in our lane...

She is a new driver, trust me, she was not interest in measuring genitals that day. She left the bus merging in our lane and kept going straight.

There is an Highway Code:

Lane discipline
133
If you need to change lane, first use your mirrors and if necessary take a quick sideways glance to make sure you will not force another road user to change course or speed. When it is safe to do so, signal to indicate your intentions to other road users and when clear, move over.

134
You should follow the signs and road markings and get into the lane as directed. In congested road conditions do not change lanes unnecessarily. Merging in turn is recommended but only if safe and appropriate when vehicles are travelling at a very low speed, e.g. when approaching road works or a road traffic incident. It is not recommended at high speed.

you got out of your car like an Italian and the rest is history?

Edited for accuracy.

It is not clear from the video exactly what happens to the lanes there. Is there a link to Google Streetview so we can see the road layout better (without big red buses and angry Italians in the way)?

Some could say the same about the way you were trying to push your way in

Both vehicles were driving defensively IMO. And tbh that wasn't really fast enough for ABS to kick in.

there are 2 lanes, becoming 1...according to the code it is recommended to merge in turns.

Do you see how much space she left for the bus? Do you call that push your way in?

Guys, next time we will stop in the middle and way for all Londoners to come before to move. :worship:
