This is the second one I have fitted... I had the all aluminum one for a while but always liked the alu and carbon version : )

Always liked the look of the aluminium knob and quite liked the one on the abarth where the shaft was aluminium as well - probably like your old one. Did look for one for the MiTo but couldn't get one in 6 speed. Was there much work in fitting it ?

edit: link below courtesy of the other abarth forum with a pic of it being all aluminium. Did your new one come from TMC ?

Yes same as all aluminium version I had before.
It's a doddle to fit. Just zip tie the gaiter around the shaft, slide into place and screw the gear knob on using the adapter which turns the bolt hole into a threaded part.
Took 5 mins tops.
The only downside is that you lose the lift up reverse collar and it is possible to overshoot when changing into 5th if you're a bit ham fisted.
Yes got it from TMC.

I forgot about the lift up reserve collar. That abarth link gave the impression it was a big job.

I read a few threads before I ordered the first one and was amazed by all the stories about 'it's a different shaft diameter' etc.. In reality it's a very easy job and a straight swap.

I will be selling the all aluminium version if you are interested?

The current 6 speed 155Tb wouldn't be a keeper and I don't warn to start buying bits for a 500 when I haven't got one. Imagine there would be a number of here who would love to see a pic of the old setup. Last time I advertised a set of red rimmed hub caps it took ages to sell them on the classifieds and they were being sold relatively cheap.

Ah, sorry missed that you didn't have a 500 at the moment.
Yes, I'll advertise in classifieds. Thanks.
