I did ecodrive update to 5.6!
I did format the memory stick and reinstalling the program (ecodrive) from the computer and now whenever I go to start my car it says "update started" - "update completed".
how do we stop this;;

Can I have both music at the same memory stick were writing ecodrive?

Best thing would be not to use eco drive at all.

But you'll find a .ini or something file on your USB, delete it and it will go back to normal. If the car finds an update file it will always install the update, even if it's already got the same version.

Remove the install.inf file from the root of the USB stick once the application has installed.

Ignore the 'eco rating' bit of ecodrive, as it's not very useful or accurate. I use mine to keep historic data from the trip computer though, as you suggest.

for what use is considered crappy application ?
I want it to hold history of consumption.

what about using eco:drive and mediaplayer together?

eco:drive is great time-pass activity, fine if you want to use it and see how you have preformed and how you could change your driving habits, overall the time could be better spent learning how to improve the golf swing (in my case).

don't see why you cant use eco:drive and media-player together from teh same USB, any problems ?

bgunn , it's ok now.(about the install.inf). do you write them down eg on paper? arorat i just want to improve my driving skills for lower consumption and have a history of my car's killometers etc.

do you suggest to put the .mp3 files on folders or just in the usb flash?

konza tbh: I have not tried playing music from a usb stick, I understand you can select music from folders or root (i.e. from the main usb folder).

have a look at link below, not exactly what you are looking for will help. Some one else may be able to assist or look in the ICE section. In the meantime I will do a usb test just to build my knowledge.

Up to you, I put them in folders, as you can browse to them via this, but the mp3 tags dictate the albums that the songs live in on the B&M menu.

Neither the mutifunction computer nor the ecoDrive application measures consumption with sufficient accuracy for this purpose. Generally the figures will be optimistic.

The only accurate way to monitor consumption is to record how much fuel you put in the car and how many miles you drive. I'd suggest you sign up for a fuelly account.which will give you a simple way of doing this, which you can also share with the forum in your signature if you choose.

Maxi's somewhat concise summary of ecoDrive lacks elegance, but nevertheless reflects the view of many who have (usually briefly) tried using it.
