Here is the sound of the MM exhaust on the wife's 1.2

Sounds like a proper Itallian sports car!

We bought both our exhausts from DotShop Italy (www.dotshop.it) They are really great and just about the only company that stocks Magneti Marelli parts. Their prices were great and arrived well packaged within a week.

Cheers,

Ian.

What does it sound like on tick over?

Can you send direct link to the MM exhaust you bought for 1.2? On dotshop.it there are a few versions of them...

How much did it cost?

It's the SS500B.
The best way is to send Mattia an email on [email protected] and ask him for a price and shipping to UK. I think ours was about €180. Shipping was €20. He accepts PayPal too.
Tell him I recommended you. He did a cheaper price for me than advertised on website and I've had quite a bit of communication with him since. He's a great guy.
Hope this helps.
Ian.

Hi newbie here, did you have to modify the bodywork to fit the exhaust? Have you done any other mods. nothing major, perhaps air filter? I'm borderline selling the 500 unless i can make it more fun to drive.

No change to bodywork, just swapped the back section of exhaust. Fits perfectly in the cut out in the bumper.
Nothing else changed on the 1.2 but we also have a Twinair. Hence name 'The Twins'
The TA has Magneti Marelli exhaust, K&N air filter, Abarth steering wheel and Abarth competitione gear knob. Oh, and Abarth scorpion center caps on wheels.
There is a thread with pics on here about the mods.
That's the great thing about the 500. It's so easy to modify/personalize and it's such a fun car.
Don't sell ; )

Fun in what way?

What version do you have, and what do you think it needs to be more fun? Noise, speed...?

I have always found 500s to be fun, whatever their set up.

You have just bought an Abarth though IIRC. I bet that's even more fun than your 'sport' model.
; )

Perhaps, but also more demanding. The Sport was fun at more legal speeds!

Actually the Sport was perhaps more cool / chic, the Abarth is a little more crazy though. I think the 1.2 suits the 500 perfectly.
