I had a problem with my high level stop light upon checking wiring loom at top of boot door i found a damaged loom.I replaced wiring to light it now works. But i now have no number plate lights and boot lock only works with key.Is there a fuse? or any other ideas.

Hi there , if it worked before it still could be a wiring issue as this is very common , make sure all the wires are intact at the loom , other than that it sounds like the boot / button housing is broken . A quick check you could do is to remove the inner tailgate trim and make sure you have a live feed and earth to the multiplug of that housing (y)

thanks. There is no power at the no. plate lights and all wires seem intact. Is the lock connected in some way to the lights.New lock fitted last week by dealer when it was M.O.T.(high level stop light was not working then but they still passed it .A Fiat Dealer):bang:

Hi there , yes the number plate lights are connected to the boot button housing . As long as the fuse isn't blown and the wiring is intact as you say it can only be the button housing . ( chrome bit on back of car that says 500 on it ) . It's held onto the tailgate with 4 10mm nuts . (y)

thanks.Do you know which fuse it is so that i can check. The handbook does not say.The outer covers of the wires look o.k. The loom did have some bare wires but i have coverd them. There does not seem to be any volts at the no. plate connecter.
