General Replacement Remote Key Fob Case

Your key has, how shall we say, that lived in look.

But you have done well to get it apart, and I suspect a few well directed jets of air will make it look a much happier bunny, and possibly get it working properly again.

I dread to think what Google translate will make of my rather loose use of the English language.......

Old thread resurrection warning, but I just did this and had the same problem where the key still did not go all the way in. The trick is to change the hinge mechanism as well. By that I mean you need to pull the key blade out of the old hinge part and then push it back into the new one. To do this you will need a stiff thin bit of metal (a 2cm long bit of bike spoke is perfect), at the base of the key blade you will see a small hole on each side. Hammer the thin bit of metal into the smaller of these two holes, then the tiny retaining pin will come out. Then put your key blade into the new hinge part from your new fob, and gently squeeze the pin back in with pliers. I had to very gently file the slot on the base of the key blade to achieve this. Then put it all back together and you will have a key that works like new.
