DRL's are duel filament so they could blow but still work when the headlights are on. I bet both bulbs have just blown at the same time.

You can turn the drs's off on the menu and then the warning will not show up.
Then you can get them changed when you have the time.

That figures, RUI - a mate of mine is an MOT tester and told me a while back that DRL functionality is not included in the test. I don't expect that to last, though.

The DRLs themselves aren't part of the test (for now), but the sidelights are, so if that part of the DRL functionality is not working, your car will likely be failed.

Got car back and they said lights were working. They fell for same trap as me and not realised twin bulbs. So have knackered DRLs and can't afford to replace after the amount door handle has cost so bye bye DRLs for a while

The bulb itself is not expesive

No I am so useless I would snap something off. You have never met such a dumb person at doing anything like that! Always ends up costing me more if I try to do anything. Have asked husband but he just mumbled something about being busy. Perhaps halfords WeFit service would be cheaper than garage?

You'll probably damage it less yourself! Halfords can just about stretch to advise you about the correct bulb or wiper, but I wouldn't let them actually touch the car..

Can't see why.....they break it they have to pay to fix it; I break it whilst trying to do something I know I'm crap at and I have to pay. Can't do a worse job than if I try.....I who had trouble opening sons advent calendar door without ripping it this morning. Yes I am that crap

They won't pay. They won't tell you they broke it, they'll just bodge it.

Seriously - it's not that hard, read the owners manual, it's literally unclipping a cover, then removing a bulb holder, if it feels like it's going to break, you're pulling too hard! It's not that fragile.

Just studied the photographs and I'm a bit lost at number 5. Am I holding the big black plastic thing that looks like the radius of a tea plate? Am I supposed to be trying to twist the whole black thing out? Hmmmmm seems quite technical. Reckon I could learn to do it if someone showed me in person but I would be afraid that I'd miss something out and then leave car unable to be driven cus bits hanging down. For you it's easy because you are probably used to changing things like that but for me, expressions like pull it don't twist or else it may shatter, scare the hell out of me lol

I'll buy some bulbs and then pluck up courage over Xmas to do. Guy who lives opposite may take pity on me and help ;)
