Dealer question

I was just wondering if anyone can help me with a question about my dealer and the Yr 3 warranty...

I bought our 500 at a dealer in South-East London but I've recently relocated to Stirling. I understand that the 3rd year of the warranty is from the dealer rather than from Fiat directly. Will the fact that we're now 480 miles away be a big problem? Is it possible to swap dealers?

Apologies if this is a stupid question..

Re: Dealer question

I believe the 3rd year warranty is with Fiat, not the dealer you bought the car from. I say this because I bought our 500 nearly new, (ex Fiat fleet car) from an independent reseller, nothing to do with Fiat. I just sent off the slip in the back of the service log and paid the 27.

If the car should require any sort of warranty claim in year three, I'm under the impression I can take it to whichever authorised Fiat Service centre I wish.

Re: Dealer question

I was under impression that 3rd year is dealer not Fiat warranty. That's what came across when I had a problem in 3rd year anywayr

But the lack of 3rd yr cover for many of the common failure items just might be .
