Hi
I'm new to this forum and have been picking up lots of tips, shame I didn't find it until after I had collected my 500.
I love driving my new 500 but I'm disappointed with the flower decals. I ordered red to match the roof, but they are brow. Dealer says they are the red. After investigating I have found out that fiat have changed the colours since I ordered. When i ordered middle of september i had the option of red or black, now they offer black, light grey, dark grey or maroon.
This is the first new car I have ever had and although I love driving it I don't like the colour decals.
The dealer registered car on 31st, 2 days before I collected, is this normal?
Hand over poor, warranty not explained, how to look after soft top, nor any tips to get best MPG driving twin air.
Any tips?
Thanks louise

Welcome to the Forum Bondgirl.

Nice looking 500c and I like the red roof. Here's a thread (Click here) on how to look after it. Since the car is new now would be time to 'proof' it.

On getting the best MPG out of the TA you'll need to get up in the gears to get the best out of it. Get the impression that shift indicator comes on too early and as the engine 'breaks in' (this varies between 5K-8K miles) it should get better. Higher octane could be benefical and the difference in the price of a litre might be justifiable.

Warranty as you know is 2+1. If there are any issues make sure that they addressed before year 2 expires.

Registration on the 31st - once it wasn't the 31st of August - it shouldn't matter.

If you're unhappy with the colour of the flower decals they are easily removed with a hair dryer. If you leave them on for any lenght of time the paint colour under the decals will be different to the rest of the car.

The issue with the colour fading on the car but not under the stickers will not be an issue with white (other than in the very long term).

I would push for your money back for the decals (and get the dealer to remove them if you are not happy to). Sounds like you have not got what you ordered so it should not be in issue. You could then get some red ones off the internet or from a local company.

Good luck - I'll keep my eye out for you as I'm in Snorbens too. I take it you got the car from down Hatfield Road....

Thanks for the welcome and the tips, very helpful. This is such a friendly and helpful forum, especially as I'm new :) Will look into proofing the hood, good tips for the mpg too
Thanks again, Louise :)

Thanks, yes see you around Snorbens, I have only seen one other 500c in this colours any/stickers so I won't be difficult to miss :) BTW got it in Watford but won't be going back there! Hatfield road next time :)

Yeah, Glyn Hopkin didn't set the world on fire for us but they were "ok" and have been since on servicing - although you need to shop around a bit first and get some lower prices to get them to match.
