Hi,

I've been looking at ordering a new 500, or an ex-demo or similar, ideally a Twinair, but have found a 1.4 sport available locally that looks in very nice nick. Is it possible to have the chrome kit added on as an after-sale add-on by Fiat?

Thanks,

Ant

You can add on the chrome inserts on the bumpers.
You can't add on the chrome inserts on the rear windows since they're factory fit.
You have the chrome exhaust tip since it's standard on the 1.4.

Are you sure you want the bumper inserts ? :)

Ah thanks for that. I like the chrome look so will probably definately get the bumper inserts fitted if I get a car that doesn't have them. No firm decidion on what to buy yet though - still lookin around.

I have a Sport as well. Like you, I was planning to get the chrome bumper inserts and the chrome wing mirror covers. I also thought the seats in the Sport were part-leather - turns out they're part-vinyl instead.

Then I realised there were a number of other things that I'd want with the chrome - which you get on a Pop model - like red fabric seats (and red door trim inserts), white/ivory ambience, and a fixed glass roof like you get on the Lounge model. Bear in mind also that cars made after the middle of 2010 have a more carefully-tuned suspension, with rear antiroll bar, for a less choppy ride. The 1.4 before this date had harder suspension than the 1.2.

I came to realise that the Sport is pretty much the most basic model, so it's best had without the chrome bits (best not to try and dress it up as something that it's not). Then at least you can explain to confused onlookers that it's an unusual anti-retro version of a retro car! :)
