the seat belts (both front driver's and passenger's) seem to be tensioned too tight. And I feel some discomfort because of this.
Is this a common issue in Fiat 500 ? Or is this something that can be adjusted ?

Never noticed but then the 500s that I've had were bought secondhand. Maybe they loosen a bit after a while.

Never heard of anyone adjusting the tension on the seat belts. Remember my sister having a bit of trouble with her seat belts but then she's a bit on the petite size.

Well , my new seat belts are really hard to live with. It's tight enough to leave scratch marks on my collar-bone/skin after say 30 mins driving. And I constantly feel the belt pressing against my collar bone.....really irritating.

Put a clip on it to stop it pulling back. Just enough to stop it pressing on you. It will still do the job its designed to do but won't dig in.
