Replacing rear light lens/assembly passenger side

How do I replace the lens of the passenger side rear light? Some toe rag broke the rear light lens when I was parked in a retail park. I can get the whole assembly (which I don't think I will need) for about 46.00 delivered. Fiat charge 73.00 for this!!
If it just the lens, then it will cost about 15.00.

Has anyone replaced this before? I am not sure how to go about it as I do not want to break something else in the process.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

cheers.

Do they sell just the lens?
AFAIK they don't and you will need to change the whole light.

Sellers on the well known auction site charge about 46.00. Weenie Fiats sell the lens for about 15.00 but I need to confirm it.

Weenie Fiats got the price wrong, it was for a classic 500.
So I have ordered the lens from the well know auction site.

I know it says lens but I think that's a complete lamp cluster.

Re: Replacing rear light lens/assembly passenger side

The rear lens is a very quick job to do. Open boot and you will see tow 10mm nuts, undo these. There are no bolts on the outer edge, the unit has two plastic lugs that fit into rubber sleeves. Keep the light staright and give it a couple of tugs and they will just pull out, if they are sticking try to squirt a bit of wd40 and this will help them slide out. Disconnect the wiring multi plug wich is held on by a little tab. Unclip bulb holder. Fitting the new one is reverse of this. You should have this job done in 10mins.

Re: Replacing rear light lens/assembly passenger side

Fitting the whole cluster took less than 10 minutes and was as described by cbdubs. The unit is a Taiwanese clone and I was not able to tell the difference in quality or fit other than the original had Fiat markings on the casing. I saved 27.00 which can't be bad in such economic climes.

Hey Mufffin glad you got it sorted ok - if you had taken it to a garage it would have probably cost you the 27 you saved.

Fiat charges 73 for the cluster and will charge half an hour for labour.
