After seeing some valuable advice via the forum re changing the main beam bulbs, i thought I would give it a try today and install some Philps Extreme Vision H1's to be compatible with the H7's I installed a couple of weeks ago.

JRkitching's advice on the removal of centre caps using an old non embossed credit card worked a treat plus having a mat alongside to catch the cap if it flew off.

306maxi's tip of taking off the front wheels to give easy access to the under arch panel was sound. No fiddling, direct access to bulb and replaced in minutes.

Only thing I did find was after removing wheel nuts the wheel was 'seized on the centre hub and retaining lugs. A short sharp knock with a small lump hammer did the trick. (Ensuring the car was adequately supported of course).

Good tips to be had here so thank you very much gentlemen(y)(y)

I've decided to leave the DRL's as original at the moment as unsure in myself as to the road legal/non legal aspect.

copper grease on the centre bore and mating surface with the disk helps a lot in the future :)

Thought about that when I was putting wheels back on, but not something I had, but will have for the future.(y)

I have Bi-Xenons specced on one of my fiat 500's and replaced the DRL's for PIAA super whites to match last night. Took a closer look for the first time and saw another high beam bulb that I didn't know was there below the DRL... Guess I'll be buying some more bulbs then lol.... For info, it was really easy to replace the DRL bulbs, took about 5 minutes and just had to turn the wheels to get access through liner.
