Well my Baby is back from its paint shop visit after the dealer somehow managed to put 3 dents in the bonnet.

Good Looking Full Bonnet Spray, got rid of a couple of exisiting stone chips as well!. Paintwork warranty intact and confirmed.

Dug out my Abarth 16s from Storage and used the break in the rain to fit those, so she is all ready for work on Monday.

Going to Sort out my Private Plate paperwork when I am back home in a week or so, so she will be on V 500 H soon..

Good to hear that all went well & you've got it back :).

The 500 is one of those rare cars which look good in yellow. Reminds me a little of my second Capri.

did they paint the bumper too, looks a different colour to the wing?
take it to a petrol garage at night and view under artificial light
that will show how good the match is

also make sure that the edges are fully covered

did they fully respray it or just a chips away type repair?

Love the wide angle lens (10mm or 15mm on a full frame sensor?)

15mm on a FF (Canon 5DII)

Full spray on the Bonnet only, Always found the yellow on the Wings to look a bit different to the bumper (As the bumper is plastic), had that on my last 500 in yellow as well, They took the bonnet off and repaired than flattened then fully sprayed, actually I am impressed with it...

Excellent mate, really pleased for you.

Has this dealer restored your faith? Don't feel obliged to answer that!

I hope whoever you use in the future looks after your motor

I dont think I will ever have any faith in Autoworld again!!. When I went to pick it up it was left in the carpark in the pouring rain with the boot wide open (Apparantly they had forgotten to close it after giving it a clean!)

But wil be taking advice from here, and trying Worksop in future..

Yep 500s, Capris, Reliant Robins, and BT Vans. thats about it!

Glad all went well.(y)
Can never understand why they can't get the bumpers and the bodywork to colour match. Had that problem on the Pearlescent but it wasn't the case on the Black and it's not an issue on the Biancospino white on the MiTo (which is very similar to the BNW).

Good to see a positive result and does look great in yellow .as does my punto after a good polish and it stays suprisingly clean for a bright colour:)
All i can say is carry on enjoying your 500(y)

Good memories of a yellow Capri with a Tobacco Vinyl roof!!!

There are plenty of cars that look nice in yellow :)

Coupe and Mk2 Punto Sporting, for example :)

I'm relieved this story had a happy ending!

I am confused though why you'd use a wide-angle lens - makes it look all rounded and blob-like (which the 500 is!) - I prefer to go back about 5m and use a bit of zoom, helps any car look better in my opinion

Currently thinking about getting the chrome bumper strips for mine, I can see they work best with a Euro plate (which is possible to get in NZ as a personalised plate, I was thinking perhaps '5OO QT' ($900).
