Just a quick post to say hi and to announce i have finally persuaded my wife to get a 500. She has been driving her admittedly ultra reliable VW polo for the last 5yrs and its now 10yrs old so i wanted a newer car for her.

Driving to tescos today i pulled into the local Fiat garage and long story cut short (3hrs in the showroom), we are collecting a new 500 1.2 Pop in white next Friday.

Not sure what discounts people expect but the deal broke down as follows

Car price = £9690
Trade In = £1800
Extra discount/Overallowance = £450
Fiat Deposit cont = £500

The finance deal i got was 1.8% APR as well so even that is supported.

Good deal/Bad deal??

Suppose it doesnt matter as long as i am happy.

Looks about bang on if you look at the latest offers for the 1.2 Pop on the Fiat site.

Are your monthly repayments £129 by any chance. If so you can't really go wrong with that can you!

Super uwe, no the repayments are £116 over 36mths. I even got them to put the mileage at 18,000per annum rather than the 3-4000 per annum she will really do. This ended up reducing the final payment considerably as well I dont plan on handing them the car back so this suits us better.

Worked it out that its costing us less than £8 per month to finance the car rather than pay cash.

Helps that i have worked in the commercial motor trade for over 15 yrs
