Hi everyone,

My Bossonova white 500 Lounge has the Italia red and green stripes down the side...but I'm tempted the to the equivalent roof and bonnet stripe on to. Has anyone done this? Or do you think it would look a bit OTT?

Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost?

Thanks! :)

It's neither right nor wrong - it's purely personal preference.

For me, it would be one or the other, and I'd prefer roof to sides. But that may mean I have really bad taste, who knows.

Have you tried to spec it on the config and see what it looks like?

I had the italian stripes on the side and the across the roof and I got very attached to it on a Black 500. List price was €175 for the side and for the top. If you get tired of the top you can always take it off & it makes it easier if you have sourced them at a 'cheap' price (some of the Abarth guys get a chequered roof for the trip to the Nubergring and IIRC get them for around £100). They can limit your re-sale but you can photograph the car to minimise the effect. I loved the look from the 'top' as in an aerial view from the 1st floor of a house.
The trend now is for 'less stripes' and on a white car some are going for a black roof - there was a suggestion on here to go for it in vinyl (it's 'reversable').

I was tempted to go for both but in the end went for the side stripes and the chrome bonnet line. Trouble is that I now can't decide if I want the side stripes at all! I want it to look as retro as possible (to the extent that I'm swapping the standard alloys for steel wheels with the Vintage Style chrome wheel rims) so not sure if it would look more so without the Italian flag stripes? Please can someone help me decide??

If you going for the retro look IMHO I wouldn't got for the italian side stripes. You could also consider going for the A-bar along with your Chrome bonnet line. I had the A-bar on the 2nd 500 on a FW and I quite liked it.

I have gone for the A bar as you suggested and I think you're right about the side stripes. Maybe I'll just have those cute little Italian flag badges instead!
