Im just awaiting to pick up my 1.2 Lounge and need to get some good mats, been put off ebay as been stung on there before buying mats.

I've just bought a set of premium rubber mats and a boot liner from Motorway Mats for my all-black Twinair. Cheaper than Fiat, very smart, perfectly tailored for the car and a bit different from the usual carpet finish.

I bought a genuine set of Fiat mats for my own 500 from a Fiat Dealer trading on Ebay. Paid £46 incl postage. An easy transaction. I didn't buy my own car from a Fiat dealer by the way, so negotiating a set of mats genuine or otherwise, was not an option I even bothered with.

Just a quick photo of one of these rubber mats in-situ - they have a industrial / JCB type finish and are made of very thick rubber so will probably outlast the car. Look good with the all-black Twinair interior.

Whilst accepting that your mats are indeed very functional and will last probably forever, I personally prefer the genuine Fiat tailored mats with their velour and the cream piping around the edge. They just compliment the interior of the car. They are however in my opinion, expensive, certainly not worth the money I paid for them, but then I suppose if you want a certain look and the only option is manufacturer supplied equipment, then I guess you have to pay for it.

Whilst they're nice and all, they're not really that useful in terms of actually collecting spills and so on.

I've got some of Michelin mats and they held an entire large coke from McDonalds which fell out of the cup holders whilst I was cornering a little too enthusiastically. With your mats it would have just gone all over the carpets. At least carpet mats would soak up split liquids somewhat.

If you're looking for a plain black carpet mat, Halfords improved fit ones are reasonable value at £27.99:

The type 1 mats are a good fit for the 500 (and the Panda) - I've used them in both cars for over a year without any issues.

Edit: Unfortunately the suppliers have changed the specification of these mats; the newer ones are nowhere near as good, either in terms of quality or durability, and I can no longer recommend them.

I have these as well and they have been mostly fine too - the driver's side mat is getting a bit battered directly underneath the clutch, but it does the job it needs to do and that's all that matters!

However I must say I'm looking forward to having the genuine Panda mats when we get our new car - they look very nice indeed and am pleased I got them included.

Do you like 3d car mats or universal car mats? There is a big difference.

Has anyone got these mats? Thinking of buying a second hand set I've seen on ebay but wondering about quality. Are they magnetic for dirt/dust or are they easy to maintain? http://www.fiat-accessories.com/fiat-500-black-carpet-mats-11763

I bought these as a spare set:

They are the genuine Fiat ones supplied new by the dealer with your car (were supplied with mine anyway), They have the clips to mount them to the floor properly and fit both the 500 and 500C models.
