The same as any BNW Lounge - those are standard Lounge alloys.

Yeah, my bad, I meant the ones on the colour therapy car, look like vintage wheel trims but with a white rim instead of the fake alloy- wonder if they will appear on the fiat accessories site soon?!

love the lounge alloys but not worth putting on a pop, may as well save the best part of 1k it would cost towards a new 500:)

If they don't, just order them from the parts department.. :)

Ah yes that. The parts department.

I see the new colour therapy available in red and immediately clock the colour coded gear shifter. Just what I'm looking for, for Ruby! Wanted one with some red in it but not a totally red one and like having the 1-5 on it. Dislike the Ivory or Black leather OEM accessory with those funny indentations in the sides.

Parts came back to us this week. Good News - they can sell me one.

Bad News - but it will cost me £356.00...
that's PLUS VAT so approx £70 on top of that.
Therefore that's a cool £430.00 to you, Madam!
Colour Therapy?
Well if making me see red counts...!

 What a ripoff!!! Can that price be JUST for the gear knob?!

Would expect it be solid gold for that money AND to include a gear box too!

My flabber is truly gasted:p

Yes, that's what we said, "we just meant the gear knob, not the whole gear box too". He did at least agree that it should come with a gear box for that price, but no, that was indeed the price for the knob alone.

He did 'helpfully suggest' though, that due to the high residuals on the F500, we could always sell mine and buy a Colour Threrapy version instead...

Blinkin' flip!

That has to be "not quite correct"...you can get a whole gearbox for that sort of money. :D

Does anyone have teh facilities to check? What's a normal 500 gearknob cost? A Panda gear-knob (albeit it's a different thing altogether) is £20 according to ePer..

Ralf S.

Exactly!
We did get the part number at least, so for now plan is to keep on asking for price updates. Am going to be sending an e-mail to Fiat UK too asking them if the price can possibly be right (oh, sounds like a game show of old).

Anyway, we took a detour to the dealership last night to have a proper look for a Colour Therapy and see what you would actually get for your mega£'s. They had the yellow CT there (description of colour: looks like English Mustard mixed with a little cream that's taken down some of the yellow strength down slightly. Very pleasant). Hubby being taller stood on tippy-toes to look at it through the window and told me the gear knob looked good. I couldn't see the top of it properly on the configurator but it turns out the top is a silverish metal disc with the H diagram on it set into the colour (even better, I thought it was white).

Just call me Vicky Becks...
I do think there might be a little market for Fiat here.
I've seen a white C with red roof - they might like a red Colour Therapy knob too.
As might an owner of a totally black interior in a black car, wouldn't that show really well as a splash of colour in the mono?
A red CT knob would also suit any other non-red 500 which has red leather seats for example.
Ruby has the red cloth seats with black tops. My current black knob matches the black ambience well, don't get me wrong, but it's just me pulling the co-ordination together. I think that as the shifter is in the middle of the seats and dash, a splash of red here would look great. I know you can get a red gaiter made easily enough, but it doesn't look good in my opinion (it makes the gaiter too visible and look too separate from it's surroundings) but a red shifter would go really well, it's a bit different, yet still in spirit and OEM.

Just how short are you two???

:D er yes in reading that back... clearly you'd got the impression that two Hobbits had gone out after dark on a reconnaissance mission to check out The Precious.

It was nose to closed showroom window, after dark, looking in at the floodlit yellow 500 about 10 foot away.

It was only "after dark" because it was late when we got back after a rare day out and "lets go-see if there's any new CT's in the dealership to look at" came to mind as we could make a small detour past it.

(Being serious, for now, I've e-mailed asking for further price clarification; will update as I hear more. I'm sure a 500 owner with a red leather interior might love one, as might an all-black ex/interior for a shot of colour, as may a white C owner with a red roof, it can't just be me interested...?)

Being on leave at the moment I popped into my local Fiat dealership today (as you do...)

It seems that Fiat probably just gave the price of a Colour Therapy gear knob an astronomical sum out of the air - for reasons of initially only creating interest in fresh car sales first, not aftermarket accessories buyers, understandably when you think about it. When the initial campaign and sales all settle down a bit I suppose Fiat may cost it as a new accessory.

As a customer with a 1yr old 500 who’s keeping her 4eva (that’s not for Eva, I meant forever, you dig?) I sure won’t be going for a Colour Therapy Pasadoble over my Ragamuffin Ruby, but will happily treat her to a wowzer new shifter. So then, a bit too eager, chill-out man, patience required. Maybe next year they'll make them available at a sensible price.

Three Colour Therapies in three different colours were ordered for my local dealership but typically, FIAT gave them all three in the same colour! That's Countrypolitan yellow, so that's the only one of the new colours they've seen in real life so far as well.

Anyway as the last of the three was over in the lot awaiting its PDI, us Hobbits snuck a look and not being too cheeky as it’s actually adopted now (sorry, sold) got a couple of snaps. In real life, and in daylight this time, it’s still a really warm mellow-yellow, and in comparison I’d say the Tropicala yellow is more “acid” in tone. The difference in shade is basically... Custard v Mustard. This CT shifter wouldn't look out of place in a Tropicala/Tropicana yellow either...

cool aftermarket gaiters, knobs etc here: ...
cheaper than genuine fiat?
Site is in italian though :)

Thanks for suggestion! and yes we know of this company - Black of Italy (www.blackit.it) as got a few other bits on order with them right now (boot strap, drawstring bag which fits cupholder and an Iheart500 sticker). We were unsure whether they sold to the UK as site in Italian. They do, it's just their site hasn't got an English option just yet, but will have eventually. Armed with Google Translator or Babel Fish though, you can soon work things out we found! The staff member we e-mailed was very helpful and English good, athough we did refer to the boot as the tailgate to avoid confusion with them using boot instead of gaiter.

They've been really informative too, for example:telling us their gear knobs are cut from a locally made metal alloy, primed, painted and clear-coated (they obviously are a high quality brand and proud of it). They were even kind enough to say that wearing rings (jewellery) may possibly cause some scratching to the surface, and that they can get very hot in the sun. That's exactly why I'm not after a metal one, that and they tend to be small.

I very much like the chunky style of mine so I'll just wait and see. As my dealership are hardly going to forget this query, if it eventually becomes an accessory option I know they'll tell me !

My local dealer has a Mustard too.. :D Naturally.. it's the Old-Boy Beige that I'm interested in. :)

They're coming though.. and I'm not aboot to buy one yet anyhow, so no worries.

What's with the white alloys in the little mini-brochure though? That's more 1980's than 1970s... (trust me, I was there!) :D

The "Therapist" at my dealer had the plastic wheel covers though and they looked splendid indeed... the only thing I wasn't sure about is the white aerial. I think for the full-on retro-experience it shoulda been chrome.. :)
