Just ordered a Twinair Lounge and I'm trying to work out if it'll come with manual climate control (the knobs) or auto climate control as standard. The Fiat website says automatic climate control is standard on the Twinair Lounge, but looking around at pics of '61' plate Twinair Lounges most seem to have the knobs so presumably manual climate control. Can anyone set me straight on this?

It doesn't really make much difference to me, but I'd just like to know that what I get when the car arrives is what I should be getting.

Thanks.

I bought a TA Lounge back in June and auto-aircon was an extra. I've just looked at the configurator and it's not an option any longer. Auto-aircon also appears as a standard option, so it looks like you should expect it.

Good luck. Hope it goes well.

Thanks for your reply. Fingers crossed it has the auto climate control. Should be here this week or next so I'll find out soon.

For a while now, the configurator has called the Lounge variant with the twinair engine the "Twinair Lounge (ACC)", which presumably means Automatic Climate Control. Other engine options on the Lounge trim don't seem to have this. I presume it's been done to make the Lounge compare well with the Twinair Plus, which also has ACC.

They should make xenons standard! Not climate control which has no benefit whatsoever as with standard climate control all you have to do is play with the knobs until you feel warm or cool = ) But this would cost fiat more money of course.

Not everyone wants to blind other people.

Guys all jetset cars these days come with Xenons as standard. Bmw's, Porsches, Ferraris, Range Rovers, you name it!
I think it is time for Fiat to jump on the bandwagon if its such a cool car marque, especially with a premium supermini as the 500!
If budget was the rule of the day then fine no xenons for the Panda!

Its a safety related issue!
Its like the Germans with VW, saying for extra airbags you need to pay haha. If you are poor we want you to die quicker! = )

Not sure what a "jetset" car is, but for me a large part of the cool allure of the 500 is that it is not a "thrusting" BMW, Porsche, Ferrari or Range Rover.

Also, you are wrong that Xenons are standard in the cars you listed.
For example, on a BMW 320d, Xenons are a £500 option.

I'm afraid that budgets count at every price point.

It's a type of car you buy to prove to others that you're successful.

Quite. A Fiat 500 is the car I've treated myself to, with the sole reason of proving to myself that I'm successful. I'm not sure that I should really worry about proving anything to anyone else.

It's a classless chic design. Works for me. (y)

i ticked the box for climate as had it on last three cars so for me was a no brainer, its reassuring ahmett is content with twiddling his knob :)

did consider xenons but options were racking up, hindsight i wish i'd ticked the box, new arrival in march has them and think their will be no going back

Yes when i see that other cars and the jetset american fiat 500's have them as standard (i think definately for the abarth), i feel technologically behind. Those projector lights are the way forward, and it could be converted but it would be a big cost.

The more i see of what they get in the USA, the more third world i feel europe is becoming! Bye bye Europe, very soon a steering wheel will be an optional extra!

You really do struggle to see things from any point of view that's not your own.

Everyone has their opinion and it should be respected and of course you have the right to have your opinion. Just understand that the vast majority of people probably don't give two hoots about HID's. I actively don't want to have them on any car I own, that's for sure. If someone wants them then fine, but for every person who really wants HID's there are probably about 20 people who don't care and would rather that the car was cheaper.

Our 500 is rarely driven on roads that are not lit by street lights. Therefore I would not want to pay extra for better lights (whether as a paid "optional extra" or as part of a standard specification).

I agree with what you guys are saying i wouldnt want to pay 700 pounds either but what i am saying is that these should come as standard with cars, just like ABS is. I think maybe in 10 years it will do so. What I do not like is how due to Ghetto Europe Market conditions, the Americans get all the goodies in their Fiats for a good price while we have to pay for more goodies due to Europe being a bad marketplace for cars. In America people dont buy cars that are not full extra so the european maufacturers sell tehm at a lower margin to get sales int eh first place. Like people will laugh at you if you say can i buy a 316i in america? They dont even exist there.
