It's that time of year again so I shall be organising our usual Xmas meet up. Because of the time of year it is hard to guarantee the weather so there might or not be any photographic opportunities but that just means we get to spend longer in the pub(s).

Probably meet up at the Green Dragon, Brook for coffee and a chat and hopefully get to meet some new people, then a leisurely drive through the forest to the Swan at Lyndhurst for lunch and more chat.

The previous format has worked well over the years so I don't see any reason to change it but any/all suggestions welcome including Pubs and routes.

Anyone interested either post back in here or PM me and I'll then get this set up in events and post the link in here.

Cheers

Tony

I may well be speaking out of turn here, but would it not make sense to hold meetings a little bit further north to widen the amount of 500 owners that could attend? I'm an unsociable sod so I won't be attending, but if I were to attend, it's almost a 5 hour journey for me which is something I think only the most hardcore of 500 fans would do.

Just my opinion of course :p

Sorry Maxi but this is a local event (although notts and Lloyd have attended previously). However, anyone is free to organise their own meetings and perhaps someone might take your idea on board. If you look in the events section you will find that plenty of people do just that which is very encouraging.

Every event has to have a location and unfortunately most of the ones that I would like to attend are based too far away from me, so this is why we arrange local meetings. The Yorkshire Italia ones in particular seem to be very popular but unfortunately, .............. they are in Yorkshire, hence the name.

Tony, what are the timings ?

Hi Arorat, timings at the moment are only provisional, as are the venues but as soon as I have conferred with Team Yellow Luigi I will post a definite timetable. I don't see us deviating very much from our tried and tested blueprint (actually Mark usually scribbles it on a napkin or an old beermat) so something along the lines of:

All meet at the start point (TBC) between 10.30 & 11.00 for coffees and introductions.

Depending on weather we then have a scenic drive with a couple of stops for photos and for RUI (if he can make it) to scare the horses.

Arrive at finishing point (TBC) about 12.30 and all rush to the bar to see who can get the first round in, lol.

About 1.00 we go to our reserved VIP area where we are waited on hand foot and finger by scantily clad wenches.

Finish with coffees or brandies (subject to having an allocated designated driver) of course.

ps. Arorat, I know you wanted to attend the last NFM so I have you on my list of people to PM.

Hi all, thank you for getting in touch Tony, I've not been on here very much and was just thinking about the first xmas meet, I know it was 3 years ago as we had just got our 500 and it has it's first MOT on Wednesday!!

We'd love to come along - we can do 11th or 18th (I could only vote for 1 option), but 18th would be better if I had to choose.

Looking forward to catching up with oldies and meeting newbies!!

Tracy and Pete

Sorry, I missed the NEW FOREST bit of the new Forest Xmas get together title :)

Sorry! That was my fault, when I realised I had missed the "New Forest" bit out I was able to edit the thread title at the top of the post but it didn't alter the one in the main forum. I'll PM Venters or Lloyd and get one of them to change it.

Apologies to anyone else if it was less than clear.

I can ONLY do the 4th :(

You're always the troublemaker. :p

Not a problem at all :)

As always you take suggestions well :)

Hi,

We can't make the 4th December, But can do the 11th or 18th. Like Tracy the 18th would be better for us.

See you all soon

Kirsty and Mark :)

Hi

Sounds like it could be fun to meet in the winter, less pressure to clean the car :D (still bet the urge will come, dam you little White car :))

Julie and I can't do 11th but other dates are both possible at the moment.

500 needs a good run, too many short runs around London are not doing it any good (y)

It looks like the 18th is favourite at the moment. Any of the three dates mooted are OK for Liz and I and Mel has said that she can also do the 18th.

As soon as the poll closes on Saturday and we have the final figures I'll get this set up in the events section.

The 18th sounds good to us. Just after payday (and my birthday) so will be able to afford the lunch.

'Scare the horses', I remember we were attacked by them last time out!

Hi Everyone

I would love to attend the christmas bash, at the moment my oh so busy diary says I can attend any of the above dates, just let me know the descision, see you all very soon
