Just a quick question to see if anyone can help i have a 59 plate 1.2 lounge that has recently gone in for its second service now its back every time i start the engine and for about the first 5 mins i get a strange water type noise from the engine the only way to describe it is its like the sound of a washing machine filling up with water really weird does anyone know what it could be???

Take it back to the dealer. Not to offend, but people on a forum are not going to be able to diagnose an issue that manifests itself as a noise when we can't hear said noise.

As stated very hard to diagnose remotely,..... however, the description you give makes me think it is a cooling system noise, such as you would get if there were an air lock in the heater or elsewhere. Did you have the coolant/antifreeze changed on the service?

Maxi, I have to disagree with your reasoning that noises can't be diagnosed online. Although there is no substitution for hearing them first hand, many noises are common to a particular model and someone may well have had a similar problem. As always, getting confirmation is key but it does help if when you take car to dealer you can give them a heads up.

I know that without help on this forum my clutch noise would never have been sorted out as my dealer needed the evidence gained on here before I could get them to sort it out.

I know that specific things cant be diagnosed here but was just wondering if anyone else had same problem i will take it back to dealer and update when its been looked at
