I have just fitted my new Abarth steering wheel. It is a very easy job to do and only took about 30 mins. I bet I could do it in 15 now I know what I am doing.

The abarth wheel will give me another 50bhp and about another 29mph.

Its just the angle the photo was taken. The airbag is in the centre.

I did have the black buttons on for about 10 mins then put the silver ones on. I like the silver.

No need for a guide just go to 3:20 on this video and it shows what to do

All it has is an abarth steering wheel, white dash, abarth wheels in the summer, different back box and I have taken off all of the plastic by diesel bits.

I forgot, It also has different mirror covers...I have 4 sets, Standard, carbon fiber, Red and a white set.

Where's it all going to end Ian? If you're not careful your 500 will end up looking like this:

I think Ian is a world alway from that.

I have the strange feeling that the next thing to go on may be some Abarth bumpers :p

One suggestion for a bit of a moneymaking idea...... the perforated leather on the sport wheels has a nasty habit on some 500's (see Jnoiles for a prime example) of coming off, you could offer your spare wheel as a loaner with a deposit and a small fee. People will happily pay rather than having to buy a wheel off ebay for some inflated price.

That is a good idea but I would loan it of for free if anyone wanted to borrow it.

I am getting the scissor doors fitted next week...

I am definitely not going to put on abarth bumpers. That is a step too far.
I have thought about buying an abarth and putting fiat bumpers and badges on it just to wind up the abarth owners that go on about how the abarth is NOT a fiat..

Yes I know - it was a joke. Clearly not a very good one though.

the abarth steering wheel looks awesome!!! was it expensive to buy? the wheel on my 500 sport has started to crack on the top and i now want to change it!!!!

I got it for a very good price. It is only the second one in 2 years that I have seen for sale with out the airbag.
There is one with the airbag on eBay for £660.
I am seeing if my supplier can get any more.

This is the car I want Fiat to build me. The standard 500 looks with the t-jet.

That's a great gesture RUI, not often you see that... wish you all the best.

btw, I love the Abarth wheel you have put on - it makes you think Fiat should be offering one car variant and allow you to add engine type and all bits as you please - a bit like mini but not mini prices.

That would make too much sense. If they did that then they'd have to make it so it's only sold at a few "specially" selected (as in selected by "special" people) dealerships and which in spite of being mechanically almost identical to other Fiat's, can only be serviced at a select few dealerships.

Hi Maxi. I think this was your idea as I recall to make the website simple :) Sorry going a bit offtrack now, but are you saying that if one variant is offered then it should be sold by selected dealerships ? and what do you mean by serviced at a select few dealerships - what difference would it make as the car would be a shell with a 1.2, TA, 1.4 etc. i.e. standard run of the mill engines. Sorry if I missed something.
