Hey Guys, I'm getting my first ever brand new car and have got my heart set on a Fiat 500 1.2 Pop in Cha Cha Azzure with Cream Leather Interior. I saw it on a review on youtube somewhere and fell in love but saw it was in the Convertible car so was worried I wouldn't be able to get it in the hatchback. I then found the forum which some of you were saying all colours are available in all models of the car so I shouldn't have a worry. Then.... I saw it.... there were a few posts about Cha Cha Azzure being discontinued :( I'm so sad! Is it 100% definately no longer available? I have a meeting at a local Fiat garage on Saturday morning and am going to ask them what colours are available that would be similar, so just wanted to see if you guys know the best colour to go for? What is the Volare Blue like? Any other blue's available? Also if there's anybody from a dealership out there do you know pricerangeish for the Volare Blue with Cream Leather interior? As I've seen a few posts saying its quite pricey

Please Help!!! I'm a useless girl who doesn't know much about cars and don't want to get taken for a ride at the garage!:yum:

Welcome to the Forum Rachel

That colour is definitely a gonna I'm afraid. You are probably best turning up early at the dealer and seeing what cars they have on site so you can see them in the flesh. The "new" Volaire Blue is very nice in my opinion (but it is only an opinion - you need to see for yoursel).

As you are planning on buying new, take your time to go to other dealers if need be to see their stock.

Of course, you could always buy used to get your preferred colour. If you are not using Fiat's cheap finance that might be a good idea and save you some money. Plenty of choice on the used car locator on the Fiat website, or try Autotrader or Ebay.

As to the cream interior, I'm afraid you cannot spec it on the Pop hardtop. Got to the configurator on the Fait website and have a play.

On price, dealers are very mean with discounts on 500's (especially to girls - unless they fancy you of course). It would be a good idea to hunt for deals on the internet (there are some around) and then print them out and use those to haggle with your dealer. You also might want to make them hang on until the end of the month when bigger discounts may be on offer if they have sales targets to hit.

Thanks for your help, I will have a look on Used Car Locator, Sorry I'm a bit silly are you saying I definately wouldn't be able to have the cream leather interior? I've seen the new 500 Twinair and some pics of a used one of those, it looks exactly as I want but I want the Pop version, however if the price is right on the Twinair on a maybe year old one I could maybe go for that. Are you a dealer yourself? Do you know of any good websites to search for the used ones? Thanks again for your help.

The twinair has only been out a few months so it's unlikely you'll find many used twinair's for sale.

I've just been on the configurator and as 306 says there is no cream leather.

A Volare Blue with cream leather sounds like a nice combination though!

It sounds perfect doesn't it? Think I might have to go for the Twinair to get the 'prettyness' I want! Ha. I feel like I don't know enough about the Twinair though, it costs more money than the 1.2 Pop, it has a smaller engine, it costs more to insure it, so what are the benefits? Anybody want the give me a comparison of the two?

I too have just been on the configurator it is the ivory ambience I was looking at with the grey cloth sorry for the confusion. I can get that in the 1.2 Pop aswell as the Twinair, both in Volare Blue. Am now just wondering what the major difference in the TwinAir and the standard model is.

In girl terms (sorry) Twin Air is £1,200 more, with a bit more power and possibly a bit better economy, depending how you drive it. And noisier.

Without being overly sexist, if you are not a car person but just love the 500, buy the 1.2.

Thankyou for your honesty. I originally thought the 1.2 seemed like the better option for me and am glad I'm thinking along the right lines. Hopefully will be able to find a good deal.

What type of driving will you be doing ?
brand new or old ?
paying cash or finance ?
insurance will be lower on 1.2 if you are 89 born

The easiest thing to do is ring a dealer up and ask to try both the 1.2 and the TwinAir (TA) on the same day. Remember- you are the boss, as you are the buyer.

I'd also suggest contacting an insurance broker and getting a quote for a 1.2 and a TA just to be sure that the cost of the TA is not too much more.

My personal advice would be that if you don't see much difference between the two cars when you test drive them- and go out of town as well as in- then go for the 1.2.

In the real world it will be cheaper to run. If however you're like me, you can see what we went for by looking at my forum name!

I have just got my Volare blue lounge, love the colour, it's a pastel sky blue, really suits the car. I've got black ambience with the chequered seats. Got some black mats with ivory edging and ivory 500 logo too which looks really good.

Hi, originally I was wanting brand new, but I am on a bit of a tight budget, wanting finance for £120-£130 a month with deposit of £1500ish. The lower the finance the better obviously. I wanted brand new purely to get the warranty with the services etc in because my current car is 11 years old and I'm sick of paying for new parts, MOT's, Services, £170 a year in Road Tax, a new one seems to be a good option for me. However if I could get a 500 say 1 year old with a good price the spec I want, it would be perfect, as I know how much money a brand new car loses as soon as its driven off the forecourt. Yes I am 89 born, I checked the comparison websites and Insurance £200 lower on 1.2. We're talking £980 for to insure me on a TwinAir, £730 on a 1.2. Big Difference! I wouldn't say I'm big on knowing how to drive 'economically' I just commute to work Mon-Fri, most driving on main roads, hardly ever on motorway but do go on. Seems like I won't get the benefit of a TwinAir

Was there an extra cost for the Volare Blue? As I saw on the configurator the white colour is no added cost to the standard model but the blue volare is more  I'm a car idiot and the car I own is 11 years old so I'm completely new to all this. Your 500 sounds lovely.

Another thing to remember - if you go for a Pop (rather than a Lounge) you lose quite a lot, but particularly important to you might be that the sterring wheel on a Pop is plastic but on a Lounge is leather. It makes a big differenc eI think, but again, try both. Lounge you also get a gurt big sunroof (that does not open), air con and the ability to connect your mobile for hands free (and more including music - possibly depending on the age of the car and your type of phone/mp3 player).

If you are looking to buy used a good place to look is AutoTrader.

You can set up things like how much your maximum budget is, maximum age and mileage of car, colour of car, private or trade purchase, how far away you're prepared to look etc etc.

Sorry if you know this already, but here it is, hopefully with an example of how you can fine tune a search;

Hi 'rachie

Bit of advice from a girl! Sounds to me like the 1.2 is definitely what you would be looking at. There are two main choices for you in terms of spec - the Pop or the Lounge. The Lounge has a slightly higher spec (air con, Blue&Me and a glass roof as examples), but obviously costs more than the basic Pop. If you were planning on adding any of the extras I mentioned to a Pop, then you might be better off looking at a Lounge.

The finance figures that you've given there with that deposit is probably something that you'd be unlikely to achieve on a brand new car at the moment. Even a basic Pop in Volare Blue (Volare costs £280 on top of the basic cost of the car, by the way) with no extras would cost you about £140 a month. So perhaps it might be worth your while looking at a second hand Pop or Lounge in Cha Cha Cha Azure with ivory ambience? Try AutoTrader, as TwinAir Newbie mentioned (y)

Thankyou yes I have been on Autotrader, seen a couple around £8,000 that says it doesn't include registration and delivery though, not sure how much they would cost.
