Styling Diff colour dash?

Its cheaper than getting a mould done.
I would always get a mould and make the real thing.

Well given that the flimsy piece of plastic used on the dash, it's hardly going to be a "weight saving" change using CF, i'm assuming it's just for aesthetics. In which case, some vinyls you cannot tell if it's CF or wrap, even to touch. And quite easy to lacquer over it to get it shiny too :)

Or as you say, push the boat out, get the real thing and get sticky with the resin!

I'd rather spend £1000 on a set of Sabelt seats and use the fake CF. At least with the seats it would have more purpose holding you in place on the twisties. If you got tried of the lookalike CF you can always take it off and re-instate it back to the original.

I have a spare dash and a 5 meter roll of CF vinyl (the good stuff), I will give a it a go and see what it looks like. Then when I get the real thing we can see the difference.

RUI i can recommend Streamline carbon for the real stuff did some nice (all be it expensive) work on a friends car

only bodywork mods i've done on rocco is to use CF wrap to cover the shiny gloss bits and rear diffuser, love the matt effect (ala KTM crossbox tub) and its fooled many a person, raceteam and croosbow dealer), in reality if i was doing CF for serious i'd be after a bonnet and front wings (given 15-20kgs off the front would help things along)

not sure on the the dash to be honest, part of the 500 appeal is the body colour and love the contrast of BNW with black ambience, for me you've got to use it sparingly, that abarth dash is a bit ott for me

Do you plan to sell them? If so, what will the price be? The price of the Magneti Marelli one in the link seems rather high, even for CF.

Not sure on price yet...but they won't be £700 like the other ones.

Here is the vinyl one

I have no idea how to get the old one from my car... I guess i need to get the heater control panel off first.

Looks well GUI. Matches in with the perforated leather steering wheel and it is not too much. On DFs pic the heater controls were covered so it was probably going is stage too far.
At least you wouldn't have to look at the different coloured dash now :).

Chacun à son goût. Personally I think it is extremely naff and very chavvy. It is but one step away from a Burberry check.

Carbon fibre is all well and good on a car made out of carbon fibre, but that is where it should end, in my book.

But that's just my opinion.

£16 if you use cheap vinyl. Spend more on the vinyl and it looks better and wont shrink when the car gets hot inside.
The 3M Scotchprint Carbon Fibre Wrap Series 1080-CF12 is very good but will cost about £70 retail just for the vinyl.

I had thought I would buy a CF bonnet - I was looking to put in one of the vents off the the A500 Assetto corse models for the ram effect cold air induction  - there was one for sale for over €1,000 last year on ebay ! But I learned subsequently that CF bonnets compromise crash protection and would be an insurance 'headache' not to mention the vent and the ram effect CAI ...

If the 695 model has a carbon dash then I don't see how it cheapens the 500. After all the 500 is about customisations appealling to all age groups. I would embrace customisations like this - its all about pushing the boundaries. As they say 'Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder'.
Plus it's looks a hell of a sight better than a different coloured dash :D.

great work rui, a bit too much for me even if i am a self confessed cf vinyl whore, proper 3m stuff is superb, i've had mine doen for two years (so 2009 lol)
