General 500 1st Service - Confusion 24 mo / 18k?

So my 500byDiesel received a 1 yr B'day card!
Calling up various Fiat Service places to figure out when where and how much the first service is... I'm getting different answers:

1. Yes - your 500 is due for service as it's 1 yr or 18,000 miles whichever comes first.

2. No - your 500 is not due for service - the first service is due 18,000 miles or 24 months whichever comes first UNLESS you are a low mileage driver and have less than 6,000 miles in 12 months.
No Fiats now require an annual service except for Puntos (or was it Pandas he said) - they still need an annual service.

And so besides the sticker shock of the first service... £240+
What is the correct answer????

I've read a thread on this started last year and it talks about 1 yr 18,000 miles but I'm guessing that's been updated recently to this 24 mo 18K guideline... the guy read it off the Fiat computer do-da...

18k or 24 months, whichever comes first UNLESS you've done low mileage which IIRC is 9k?

If it low mileage all you need is an oil change after 12 months and even that is a recommendation.

500bydiesel, What does your service book say? How many miles have you done ?

My service book states 1yr or 18k whichever soonest.

My 58 plate 1.2 has had so far
End of Year one = 9k low mileage service @ £112 (based on 1 yr)
End of Year two = 18K service @£185 (based on 1 year since last service)

So as we only do around 9k a year the next should be at 3 yrs and 27k miles so should be another low mileage type of service.
