Hello.

Looking for a way of transporting a small dog (whippet), safely in the back (preferably the boot) of our lovely Fiat 500. Based on a search of previous posts, I've identified Barjo as one candidate provider. Quite expensive, and they want us to get to Basingstoke to measure up properly. I'm Bristol-based, so whilst not impossible, that's a bit of a pain.

Does anyone have experience with an off-the-shelf dog guard?

Thanks!

Hi, I have 2 whippets and have been looking into dog guards before I go ahead with buying a fiat 500, as i wanted to check that I could keep the seats clean !

Whippets tend to be able to squeeze through anything.

boot-buddy.com looks like a good make and they advertise the fiat 500 as one of their . Please post back if you get one or, one from here elsewhere, I'd be very interested!

Personally I think there is not enough room in the boot (sorry but I hate seeing dogs squashed in the boot especially when they can't even turn around) and what if the car is in a rear end crash, I would buy a cheap estate car (or doblo:)) for dog transportation.

p.s.I got boot liner (for doblo) for £12.50 on ebay, cut to suit etc and has raised lip very good for protecting the carpet.

This!!

I'd never let my dog travel in the boot of a hatch back style car!
Mine goes in my mums 306 estate and still uses the back seats. dog is more important than car!!!
