Hi all, I'm not a big poster more of a lurker on the boards but I wondered if anyone has had the same experience we have had recently or maybe you can benefit with this post.

we started hearing a intermittent rattle come squeaky/whirring noise from the engine bay a couple of weeks ago, this noise was then more noticeable when stationary from inside the car too. Rang Fiat up to be told to bring it in & they'll have a listen. The mechanic seem to know exactly what the fault was as soon as he opened the bonnet, the car needed a whole new cam belt assembly as they can be over tightened when being manufactured.

If yours sounds like this, get it checked out. Has anyone else had this problem too?

Worrying if it's a common issue - do you know exactly which parts had to be replaced? Was it just belt & tensioner or had it worn the bearings? How easy is it to do a quick check on the cambelt tension, just for the peace of mind?

They said it needed a whole new Cam belt Assembly. Fixed in a day & we have it back now.

Get it checked out if you are worried, you have a 2yr warranty.

Not really. Bits fail on cars. It's not like it's been happening to everyone........

I've not come across this...
