What are choices for the replacement? Mito? or even new Guiletta?

The 500 is being collected by it's new owner today.

Replacement will be a Fiat or an Alfa (y)

Have enjoyed the car but it was time to move on, got a good price for it :D

!

Wow! As a curiosity, what mileage and what kind of price did it fetch?

Been a few sales recently.Sold ours last month, No replacemnt as we only need one car but not sure if would get another Fiat or less a GPA came up for a very good price.

waved the 500 goodbye this afternoon, put a deposit on it's replacement this morning. also waved goodbye to my imola blue Cinq Sporting

the good news is it is a Fiat, Sport' model in the same black as the 500 and it has a 1.4 TJet engine :cool:

forget about one of those crappy boxes and go for the flexibility of a remap like everyone else does that has a brain.

I know actually replying to this post will be like pissing in the wind, but here goes;

From what I understand Draig's "Tuning box" is essentially a unit that "intercepts" the ECU's communication with the original map (EEP?)ROM and replaces the returned data with that from the box.

With an off the shelf engine/breathing system like draigs I can't see the point and expense of a totally "custom" (ie. the same as every.other.abarth.500) remap. And the main thing is Draigflag is happy with his box.

So it's cheaper, more reliable, custom made and tweaked and can be sent back at any time for an update, won't affect your warranty (as it's easily removed) and for that reason it's also undetectable, and it enhances the performance and economy, what's your problem with a tuning box then? It's just a remap with it's own power supply and data base. Each to their own and all that....

Crappy boxes??!! How can you actually make that statement when you've never seen one, let alone driven a car with one on!! Tuning boxes are just as flexible (if not more) than a remap. I've just recently sold my G-TECH box for nearly the same as I bought it for, now could you do that with a remap? :rolleyes: ;) If you go for a remap thats upto you, but don't come on here winging when it's wiped from the ECU when your car has a service.

as most 500 owners dont keep the car long it makes sence to buy something you can take off and re sell. also there is a lot of dodgy mappers out there, some maybe as good or better than a box, but not always.

Good remappers i know of don't slag off the tmc box, they have even fitted it for some members instead of trying to make them buy a remap instead

of course, i still like the 500s and might get another sometime :D

was you at mitcar? was more CC there than i have ever seen before apart from at stanford, but no one i recognised :confused:
