Hi guys, got my car going in for its first service on Weds, can anyone tell me what they actually do?
Also it has been a little sluggish lately, will they do some sort of diagnostic check or update at the service to see if the car is performing as it should?
Another thing, when driving with the window open i have this noise coming from the wheels that sounds like it has some sellotape stuck to it,have checked the tyres and all is clear, could this have anyhting to do with tracking or balancing??

Thanks in advance

Rock/s traped in the tread of the tyre is my guess.

ive been told on these very pages that if the car feels a little 'unresponsive' it needs an 'italian tuneup'-

the idea being that the engine needs a good hard workout, with lots of revs, for a decent 20 min blast, to 'sort it'

try it, it works!!!..i also wont use supermarket fuel, preferring shell to any others...and some V max if im going for an italian tuneup!!!

had mine done saturday morning at lipscombs maidstone kent they changed the oil oil filter air filter plugs checked the front pads adjusted the handbrake topped up washer bottle did a full diagnostic check washed and vac,ed the car all for £203 i was told i did not need a pollen filter saving £32 car was running fine before it went in . but it runs even better now a lot more responsive,i would like to thank lipscombs for a great job. could have done the job my self as i work for a porsche dealer but cannot do the diagnostics or keep the warranty running

maybe diagnostics resets the ECU then?....as i understand a car 'learns' your driving style??.....so all this is wiped and starts again...

i really dont get this learning thing, sometimes i drive agressive and sometimes really slow, i know some cars actually adopt their gear changes (automatic gearboxes) to your driving style but what does it have to do with my manual car, it's really strange if it adjust fuel-air mixture according to my driving style. by the way, i have the same problem, at least i think i have it. it happens once a week, car suddenly feels so heavy and it doesnt accelerate well, i always thought it was my misperception.
